But this time, it's mine
I bought a set of lightly used R101LWs a few months back and sent them across the country for inspection and refinish at HRE. They did a wonderful job. The finish is perfect. I decided on satin black as I'm tired of matte and didn't want gloss. Very pleased with the final product. The wheels look great, and are a nice change from the aurum factory wheels. Car looks meaner, though obviously the details of the wheels are less noticeable at a glance. I went with some new stock size PS4S all around given that these are my street wheels. I'd say slightly less feel and slightly better ride, though the ride is of little relevance for me. This is my "event to drive car" and the more character present, the better.
Overall after nearly a year into ownership, I'm still head over heels for this machine. It is by far the best car I've ever owned, and the most engaging visceral GT car I've had the pleasure of driving. I'm one of the rare Touring converts. I specced it and bought it new....it wasn't for me. I never touched it after the RS arrived. Couldn't be happier with the RS however.

Looks spectacular! The design, color choice, and fitment flow exceptionally well with your RS.
Your experience with wheel refinishing through HRE looks to be a positive one, which leads me to wonder what your turnaround time was for your situation?

Thank you. My experience was very positive, and the service was quick. Within a day of the wheels arriving, they had already performed the run-out on them. They emailed to verify finish choice and about a week later they were on a truck headed back to me. 100% happy with the experience for sure.

These are factory 20"//21" diameters correct? I only ask because in this photo below the camera angle makes it appear almost as if the front wheel is the same size. Many of my clients that pick the R101 Lightweights tell me that they can actually feel the reduced weight of the wheel while driving. Have you experienced that as well?
Nice! What color is the 991.2 GT3RS that you're acquiring? Call me when you're ready for the HRE's and I'll get you a great deal on them and have them built quick.

Yes, factory diameter wheels: 20/21”. No, I would say that is placebo at its finest after spending the kind of money these things cost
