$2400 is not terrible. My dealer quoted me $2800 for my .2 gt3

I know some scoff at the DIY route or may be afraid to do so. I can assure that the plug change, air filter and brake flush on the 1-10 difficulty scale are a solid 1.
I say this as somebody who wouldn't take unnecessary risks working on this car myself, but these two jobs are insanely easy for the money that's saved and the frequency at which they're required.

I just removed and re-installed my wheels this last weekend, and that was a bit easier than expected.

I've only done a spark plug change on my GT3, but would say it's more of about a 3 on the difficulty scale, as there's a fair amount of stuff to remove, and you'll need a number of socket extensions and a universal adaptor, especially for the left front pug, as it it's blocked by the rear steering components. I am fortunate to have access to a lift, and it would be a much tougher job doing the plugs without one. I'm sure it can be done, but not fun, as the car is so low.

A bit of a rant. It is maintenance that has to be done. So, for me the options are:
- pay what it is at dealer (cost of ownership)
- DIY
- sell the car and get something less expensive to maintain
Putting it in perspective the $2400 service on a let's say $210k car is 11.4% of the MSRP. Translate that to a sat $55k vehicle and the two year service cost is $628. I wouldn't balk over that. Seems reasonable. Expensive toys cost more out of pocket but in relative terms I don't think the service is crazy expensive.

I do a lot of car work and if you are not tracking the car I find the 2 year brake fluid service overly excessive. Get a moisture tester and test your fluid at the 2 year point and if it is still good wait until next year and check it again.
