The 991 GT3/RS Cars For Sale Thread...

Drifting
It is great to see them around but even in LA they arent common as DDs. They are on the track, carving canyons, on Rodeo drive (posing) or at cars and coffee. Very few DD's. So yes even though the GT3 or Touring as a sleeper - there are very few people that use them as DD's. Of the several hundred Touring owners - how many people - wake up each day and drive them 25 miles down the freeway to the office, go grocery shopping, go to the dentists etc., in them? I'd say less than 50. They would be great road trip cars (LA to Sb then Sonoma, Napa via Pebble Beach, Big Sur etc and back in a Touring mmm). So again - hats off to you if you love the Touring as a DD - and i really mean that. But realize that there arent many of you. How may Tourings are up to 20K miles or more. The one's for sale seem to have 3-5K? I know a few more people that drive a GT3 as a DD - so maybe now we are up to 500 people. RS back down to ??. Thats why Porsche bifurcated the series into regular DDs (Carreras and Turbos) and GT3's that are more fun and better suited for other things. I prefer my TT as a DD (over the Perf and a GT3 / RS). That's why when / if i buy a GT3, its going to have a wing as that's how I will use it. Luckily Porsche now makes 47 variants of 911's
It is a shame that some of these Tourings (like most Rs) are not being driven. It is such a fantastic car, it belongs on the road, making memories, not in a garage. I took this picture yesterday after picking up my Touring from its 2 year maintenance.

You can add me to the list of those who DD a Touring. I am at 11,000 miles. I have also driven the Touring on numerous road trips - Oregon, Nor Cal on several occasions, Vegas, San Diego. I was supposed to drive the Touring from LA to the Dakotas, then down to Missouri and back in June but COVID got in the way.

I also had a 2018 GT3 Winged version. It's hard to explain why I like the Touring so much more... probably just the sense that it is less shouty. It's like your winged car is a IG model and you have great sex but hard to be low key walking around... and the touring is also hot but dresses like a librarian but also has great sex. That's the difference.

I bet a sizable chunk of the $32k for CXX was the deletion of the alcantara. I know it costs an arm and a leg to do it. I’d be curious to see if the houndstooth on center console lid and armrests on the doors were CXX. I’ve never seen either of those done as a CXX option, only aftermarket.

I think they persuaded a lot of their clients to trade in their Touring’s for the new 992 GT3 while the market is still hot. I bet a lot of them broke even from when they bought it new or even made money.

The MSRP on this one is $167k. Last I heard they wanted $240k for it.
