C&D G.O.A.T. = 991.2 GT3, not 911R

Otherwise I agree with the guy who would want the .2 GT3 black bits painted body color, because that’s what I did.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the 991.2 generation GT3 will probably be labeled a future classic and go up in value. I'm never selling mine (unless I absolutely have to for survival) and I'm very happy to have it.

^^^ it has the right bones for it imo. But as anything, depends as much on what comes after it for its "classic" label. If 992 is a very similar drive experience, the little aesthetic and dash differences aren't going to make 991.2 THAT much different of a car. And then we'll just have more-of-the-same to choose from. Time will tell but I'm willing to bet 992 Gt3 isn't going to be MATERIALLY different car like the 997->991 leap. I'm guessing it's just going to be subtle evolution.
That doesn't at all take away from 991.2-3. It is a great car and my fav of the 991 series, wing and all (I know, I'm so 2000's! wing-loving)

Considering the 992 will be fitted with 20/21 inch wheels and most likely cup r tires that alone will shave off 7-8 seconds of the ring time. For it to be significant they need to shed another 7-8 seconds. Putting it around 6:56-6:58. If not the jump isn’t that big.

Identical technology than 991 only improved and better. 991+
step from 997 to 991 complete different car and driving experience!
Long term 991 is no mans land.

^^^^better said. My point was that 991 was the beginning of a formula that P will only improve. So, good chance 992 will be a better version of 991 gt3; albeit plenty will argue they prefer some aesthetic elements of 991. 997 was an old formula based on mezger, g50 based tranny, hydraulic steering, “swb”, true rear engine placement, etc. 991 brought completely new engine, tranny (manual and pdk), elec steering, Rws, etc, etc. I don’t THINK 992 will be as much of a formula change from 991, but not at all surprised lap-times will be as big or bigger leap. I wasn’t really referring to performance stats; I was referring to the drive experience/design formula.

Still I wonder how much of the extra performance will be due to updated rubber and downforce only, and not that big of a leap in engine performance, transmission, and chassis development......?
Meaning it would be something you'll only really notice while going triple digits on the Ring, not while driving canyons or a typical 2-3 mile track???

The 992 GT3 has to be better than its predecessor in any or all parameters or there would be no justification for its existence beyond selling a new body style. A major leap in performance, rather than an incremental step, may also be accompanied by a proportional increase in price. Perhaps the cleaning ladies are not interested in that sort of scuttlebut?
