Why so few 991.2 GT3s for sale?
Granted I'm relatively new to the 991.2 GT3 market, but it seems like there are very few cars for sale especially with manual transmission and full bucket seats. Is this due to fewer car transactions in general because of Covid-19, or is it that folks would rather have the tried and true 991.2 GT3 rather than the upcoming (I'm guessing a year until 1st deliveries) 992 GT3? I'm searching the new Rennlist Marketplace, the used car shopping menu choice on the Porsche USA website, and Autotrader. Ideally I'd find a 991.2 GT3 Touring with 6 speed manual, full bucket seats, front axle lift, in a reasonably understated color. This doesn't seem to exist less than 500 miles away (or more) from my location just outside NYC - at least not for now.

There is a decent amount of 2018's available. Hardly ANY '19s. When I bought mine a few months back it was the only manual '19 with buckets I could find.
I think they're SO good no one wants to unload them!?!?

You are correct, not a lot of Tourings to be had. Winged GT3s (PDK and MT) are easier to find. Not nearly as many were produced as the Touring option box was not offered until later in the 991.2 GT3 production cycle. Further, it seems that those who got them in the first place are holding on to them, at least for the time being. There is an occasional Touring on sale here on RL. A low-mileage Touring in top condition will likely go for near MSRP, or at least that has been the trend thus far. Good luck in your search - sorry, mine is not for sale either!

Do not disagree. It is just one of those cars that is so visceral and I know deep down inside I would regret unloading it for sure. No interest in the 992. Sure it will be a great car but will come at a more lofty price point and I am not enamored with the dashboard. .2 the last of the analog gauges.

Covid has impacted listings; pre covid all 911’s listed on cars.com was around 6000 for sale. Now it is 4500. 18/19 GT3’s were north of 100 for sale on cars.com and now that has dropped to the 60’s. I assume the drop in new car sales is the X factor. People that were on the hunt for a new ride pre covid have held tight to see what happens. This means less people are trading them in and less are offering them for private sale in a market that is not ideal.
i assume others will wait for the 992 GT3 allocation and then trade/sell them when they become available.
the supply will return, the question is how soon.

You will definitely have to travel to look at/buy one.

I've been watching very close and I feel like they have plenty non touring but far too many have the rubber dash or that red stripe on the wheels which totally kills it for me.

Very few Tourings for sale. I think it is only 5 or so. I think many owners are like me and plan on keeping the cars forever. I am not interested in 992. Touring ticks all the 911 boxes for me and I already have 7,000 miles on my 2019.
