Thumbs down Serious PCM problem caused by Serius XM

If you are having a PCM problem with flickering displays it is apparently afflicting ALL Porsche Models
with Serius XM, it is being caused by Serius transmitting an interfering signal which affects our PCM System.
You can read about it and download a temporary Video fix on our PANAMERA Thread here:
PCM Restarting XM radio fault?
https://rennlist.com/forums/panamera/1195476-pcm-restarting-xm-radio-fault.html

The present "FIX" involves resetting our entire PCM system to Factory Settings, a huge PITA for all of us.

Haha, well played.

As for the original post, it took me 5-10 mins or so to reset the PCM in my Macan and get it set back up to my settings. Hardly the end of the world and frankly happy there was a solution that did not require a trip to the dealer.

To each their own of course but I certainly would not consider it to be a huge pain.

Hope others have better luck than we have. Problem is the resets have not been sticking. First one the dealer talked us through. Thought all was good. Next day, trouble came back 30mins into 4 hr road trip. Reset the PCM 4 times during the trip. Wondering how long this last reset will last. (this was in the ‘16 Cayenne, have not tried the other cars yet).

One solution is to delete the wart.

Fixes the cosmetic issue, and no wire to interfere with PCM

is this confirmed affecting all GT3s and RS for people here or select porsche models? From looking at threads, it seems like this is only affecting .1 models and not any .2s?

Sirius Sucks. It's a shame most of us were bamboozled into buying.

we had a similar issue. Reset it the first day was fine. Then it started resetting again on Saturday. Reset it and was fine after that. Sirius must have sent another signal again. Have not checked the gt3 yet if it will happen to that car as well.

A great reminder to have a radio delete tray handy for when this already obsolete PCM unit goes up for good.

This same thing happened back in 2014. It was resolved on our 2011 Cayenne by getting the car's software updated at the dealer. It never recurred during the 3 years we owned the car after that

I dont think it affects PCM 4 only the 3 series.. So .2's should be OK or so I hear.
