Time to buy a R?

Time to buy a R?
It is crazy to buy any limited edition car during this time, especially a R? Only two R's in the market and both priced around $350k, yet another one with sofas sold on Rennlist a little over a month ago around $240k. What is the right value on this car?
While it is NOT a Carrera GT, 993 Turbo S, 918, I think they are sweet and maybe because I was denied buying one I am still interested?
I personally am "over" and done buying garage queens that sit and collect dust and want to drive (yes drive) the car. Not to be melancholy, but time is not on any of our sides and I think if anything, COVID has sharpened my focus on truly living every minute and enjoying (with honor and integrity) the time we have left.
Thoughts?

I'm looking to trade my GTS for an R. Again, I want a high milage car as I will be driving the crap out of it. But I'm not dumb to pay $100k over sticker. Waiting it out until a reasonable seller comes along...might take a while lol

I’d be shocked if there was an R out there with 5000 miles. They’re all garage queens. Why buy a car and not drive it? Tomorrow isn’t promised. Drive the snot out of your touring and enjoy every second. Seems like the cool thing to do here is talk about what’s in the garage, not drive them. Guess That means I’m not cool 😔. I could careless about the next owner if that even happens.
Side note. I loved the R too but after a year of ownership of a .2 and understanding every detail of every 991 GT model. Like jimmyd said they’re all pretty much the same. Same DNA, different package.
not sure I agree with that. I don’t see it being a big enough “upgrade” over a touring other than bragging rights.

If you are looking for something to drive just keep your Touring, it'll cost a ~$100k to move to an R (assuming you trade the Touring) and then you'll worry about putting mileage on an R.
Little know fact the R in 911 R stands for "Reserve" but like Two Buck Chuck at Trader Joes, the Touring is the value play, with the better motor.

Have you driven an R? I'd drive one and see if it gives you that tingle first. For many, it doesn't live up to what they hoped...others love it.
Personally I plan to put a **** ton of miles on my speedster...so I get it.

There was also one available at Greenwich Porsche at 310 or so recently but it is no longer listed there. So I assume it sold. It was a relatively minimal build with no FAL but it did have the single mass.

Depends on what is on the car, ie PTS, CXX options, and other expected options. I know several cars with MSRP well above $250K. So the car you referred to had a sticker around 205K and while a great car it’s market maybe narrower due to the 18 way seats and the mileage. It would be great if the price point were applicable to all examples across the board but it would be hard to get an unmotivated seller to agree to that. I believe a lot of these cars are in collector’s hands by now.
