Yep, absolutely not looking forward to particulate filters on cars. May as well just get a Tesla at that point or some other electric.

So other than being faster for single lap, a 675 LT is inferior by a wide margin to a 991.2 GT3.
That sums it up quite nicely...

Ahh yes then the Mclaren is definitely not for me. I’m sure it’s an awesome car.

+1 to this. Times are tough but a vaccine is coming. Let's talk Porsches.

But I will say: I have a 'friend' that loves to brag about his career, and hasn't stopped bragging even though we're in the midst of 30+ million unemployed. I find it toxic and TBH his ego p* me off. It's insensitive as hell, but of course he only cares about himself and his f* brand.

I'd much rather talk about sports cars and debate which are better. Just call me Bubble boy.

I am just telling you all as someone who knows, that one of the best driving experiences you can imagine is driving a 675LT spider with the top down on a nice day. It’s not just speed. Oh and Apex Taxi has run over 1,000 Nurburgring laps on theirs (coupe) without issue and it may be their favorite car based driving position and feel even though it’s 4 years old and they run it with the likes of a GT2 RS MR and a Ferrari Pista

don’t take this the wrong way. The GT3 is marvelous to be sure. If I was using it for track duty only I would do a gt3 (preferably an RS)

I loved reading through this thread and am thankful for the different perspectives offered, particularly by the older crowd. I'm 30 and lucky to have bought my dream car. I've always struggled with the "what's next" mentality and perhaps that can remain in the form of addition rather than substitution.

There is always more to be had with the same car. In stock form it’s perfect, modded and it’s yours.

This is a really great thread. I've been lurking around the forum for a while and I'm looking at finally getting my first Porsche. I come from the "tuner" side of things but I always wanted a GT3 with a "stick". Right now I am torn between a 991.2 GT3 manual and a 997.2 GT3. Tough decision as both are excellent driver's cars. OT, I saw an earlier thread on 991.2 engine seizures, is the manual affected?

991.2 GT3 or 997.2 3.8 GT3 RS.

Perhaps until the next GT3? But I don’t like the 992 digitization and screens everywhere (I like my gauges and my watches real), so I decided to not even get in line for one.

So ironically this car is so good that I got a little sad. I always work for the next big thing and in this case, this is it. I own it. Nothing next level, at least for me. Anyone feel the same way at times?

It’s a car I just can’t fathom getting rid of. Getting rid of for what? What other modern car coming up has RWD, amazing steering, naturally aspirated engine with no particulate filter or 2021 EU eco nannies, and with a manual transmission? It’s a dying (dead?) breed and this car is an absolute classic that they don’t make anymore.

I hope there is a car renaissance one day, but for the foreseeable future this seems to be the pinnacle of “car.” At least the emotional stirring machine-type ones.
This is exactly how I feel when I drive my Spyder. Not depressed though.
