Anyone else depressed about owning a GT3?

I went for another drive in my 991.2 GT3 manual (with the wing). Honestly during this drive I realized that this was the best car I’ve ever driven, and I was a little depressed about the fact that there seemed to be nowhere to go but down (or level) from here. Perhaps until the next GT3? But I don’t like the 992 digitization and screens everywhere (I like my gauges and my watches real), so I decided to not even get in line for one.
So ironically this car is so good that I got a little sad. I always work for the next big thing and in this case, this is it. I own it. Nothing next level, at least for me. Anyone feel the same way at times?
It’s a car I just can’t fathom getting rid of. Getting rid of for what? What other modern car coming up has RWD, amazing steering, naturally aspirated engine with no particulate filter or 2021 EU eco nannies, and with a manual transmission? It’s a dying (dead?) breed and this car is an absolute classic that they don’t make anymore.
I hope there is a car renaissance one day, but for the foreseeable future this seems to be the pinnacle of “car.” At least the emotional stirring machine-type ones.

I was introduced to Porsches thru my dad”s ownership of a 356 roadster back in the 90s. My first Porsche was a 1969 911E 12 years ago. Since then I got a 964, an ‘87 Carrera, a 991.2 C2S, and a 991.1 GT3. I’ve come to love each in its own way (except for the C2S, which was fine but a little automated). I get annoyed when I read comments on this forum about one GT car being so much a step forward from another, etc. I feel like those kinds of comments reveal a lack of appreciation for these vehicles. I get just as big a smile from my 87 Carrera as I do from my 28 years newer GT3. Appreciating the differences, the evolution of the vehicle, the nuances of each, is immense fun. I’m starting to lust not for a newer GT car but to go back in time to a 997 GT3 or GT3RS.

Like the OP, I too, have a 991.2 GT3 winged manual. I took it out for a long drive yesterday on local streets, the highway, and some winding roads. Beautiful weather here so the windows were down to hear the exhaust note better as the revs climbed and descended as I changed gears. Darn near perfect clutch action/weight. All four appendages performing a function. To me this is a key element of car and driver engagement. The car is demanding that I need to pay attention and get involved with IT...and the other way around. This is a very special car to me because I can appreciate it with my senses...and I configured it with my taste in mind of must-have features and value.
There will be other cars I'll keep or acquire because they are the newest toy, quickest from 0 - N, amazing looks, exotic exclusivity, etc. But I'm enjoying this car now. And will until I won't.
"Wanting is better than having" is sometimes accurate.

I don't think we are discussing our major life aspirations. I help my family including my disabled 24 year old son, my friends, my employees and many others. Many people need things from me and I am blessed to be able to give it. My Porsche gives to me pure joy and an escape from the stresses of life. The topic is if we are little depressed because the 992 GT3 will not be as desirable as the 991.2. Nothing more. If anyone is interested, my ultimate life aspiration is to love the Lord and love others as I would like to be loved myself.

Porsche is changing or is changed. The world continues to change. Be thrilled you have one last piece of the old and certainly more fun world. After more than 60 911's the 992 is just to "Apple" for me. A 500 HP, NA, MT 911. Treat her well. And if you're looking for a new toy add an air-cooled car, GT4 or Spyder.

I think you misunderstood. No one in here (I believe) thinks that the pinnacle of achievement is a car. Just that the pinnacle of a car (for the foreseeable future) seems to be the 991.2 GT3 (at least for me). I’m a little down at times about the future of cars, the way they seem to be going.

I feel very fortunate that I have found a car that checks all of my boxes and that I don't want to sell.
Trying new cars is fun but so many are constantly trying to find that perfect car and never find it. I have.

uhh.... that’s the exact opposite of the point of the thread. A 675LT is an impressive and fast machine, but it’s
1 not a manual, 2 not NA, 3 has Turbo lag, 4 has Turbo sound inferior to NA, 5 more digital than a 991 GT car, 6 depreciates faster than a Porsche GT car, 7 track support/warranty/ overall reliability, all vastly inferior to a Porsche GT car.
So other than being faster for single lap, a 675 LT is inferior by a wide margin to a 991.2 GT3.

Saying a McClaren is better than a GT3 on a GT3 forum is a recipe for quick rebuttal. Drifting - I totally agree with you. McClarens do nothing for me, personally, but I am sure a lot of McClaren owners would say the same for Porsche products. It is nice to have options, but the GT3 really is in a class of its own when it comes to a naturally aspirated sports car with a manual gear box.
