PADM FAILURE AND WARRANTY
I am the sole owner of a 2015 991.1 GT3 with 12K miles
After some spirited driving got this message: PADM disabled. Service required. Driving permitted
Dr Google shows it commonly being a left engine mount failure. Went to dealer thinking it would be covered under the 10 yr extended warranty
however surprisingly it's not, and cost part is $2400 with 2 hr labor costs ($450) so total $3000 with tax. wow, costs of ownership!
Has anyone had this issue and had it covered under warranty? If not I'm tempted to DIY given so much free time at home nowadays as part online is only $1200 and while I don't have any experience, it would seem straightforward enough to remove bumper and presume this is plug and play? need to change the engine filter anyway.
I also read that this PADM is a common failure and that some may just decide to drive without replacing as not noticeable. only issue would be the constant warning on dashboard.
thank you all for any advice

You can also find lightly used mounts of ebay. if you’re not comfortable doing the work yourself take to one of the local race shops. DIY would not be too bad, you'll need a floor jack to support the engine. but it is plug and play.

Depends on what kind of warranty you have.
If CPO or an aftermarket warranty, should be covered.
If it's just the Porsche GT3 warranty extension, that only covers the engine for one specific mode of failure.

The Porsche "10 year warranty" on 991.1 GT3 applies to internal engine components.
From the 2017 PCNA letter: " Effective at once, the limited warranty on all your vehicle's internal engine components continues for ten years from your vehicle's original in-service date, up to 120,000 total miles on your vehicle, whichever occurs first."

Someone needs to come up with a flash to delete those stupid things. Me, I’d keep driving and forget about the light until someone does.
Just order it and DIY take it to an independent. 100% markup is nuts. There is a YouTube replacement video on a non-GT 991 if you search.

Have you tried resetting the fault to see if it comes back. Electrical connections on mount ok? There has got to be used mounts out there from wrecked GT3's

Happened to me in my .2 3RS but not my .1
Failure driver side after the car jumped a small crest and landed on a loaded rear axle. Error message was instant. ECU logged a vertical 1.7G event which isn't that much.
FYI ECU disables PADM upon failure and leaves both mounts in soft (contrary to half-truths circulated on this forum earlier).
Cleared fault in PIWIS 3 but it came back again with every engine start. You'd know it's a goner by then.
Solution was a 12TU warranty replacement at the dealer.
Car drives perfect now. Amazing how solid and instant the back end feels with a functional PADM.

I drive there, although not at 120 - good to keep a mental note so I don't hit the same crest
