Plugged rear tire and track
I have a small leak in center and plugged it... Tire are still good and 50% life left. Is it safe to be on track with plugged tire?

Really depends on the location, i know plenty who have plugged at the track, myself included, without issue. I spoke to michelin even and they informed me the speed rating is not even impacted if the damage is not near the sidewall and is minor, etc.
Certain tracks i may decide to chill a bit on the straights, like COTA, i wouldnt be bringing it to 165+ MPH on those straights, other tracks, not worried.

A plug vs a patch may also be different. Plug would be done from the outside. Patch from the inside.
I used to not drive on the street with either a plugged or patched tire. Now, I would be ok with a patched tire from the inside after reading from others that it is safe. Not sure if I would want to on the track at 150mph.

Got TPMS? Center of tread? What do you have to lose?

no it is not safe and you should not do it. General driving it is up to you but do not do it on the track. If the plug fails you will risk totaling your car and at best $50k plus in damage for a simple failure.

this. Might be safe. Might not. But if you think of it as a risk vs reward calculation, it seems silly to risk so much for so little. Just get new tires.
