Default Child seat in GT cars * OFFICIAL UPDATE *

Porsche just mailed me an addendum to my 991.2 GT3 manual, it details how to properly install a child seat in both Sport Seats and Bucket Seats (LWBS). I guess they made so many 991 GT cars that they received enough requests from current owners and felt compelled to clarify.

I received this too. These days it takes 1 person to change things for 10,000 when the other 9,999 don't agree or care. Sigh

I got two, just to be sure I read it. As its safety related Porsche probably had no choice and its only a documentation change

It cracked me up. Here comes a recall bulletin, I was expecting a fuel pump notice or valves or brakes...

It's a silly owner's manual addendum.

It is a recall so they had to send it. I am tempted to look in the owners manual to see what it said before, but I thought I recalled it said no child seats in LWB. Now it says, don’t put child seats in LWB, but if you do, do it this way.

Same! I was delighted. I hate going to the dealer.

I was relieved they found this issue. That part of the manual had me scratching my head. Not clear at all. Wow. How would anyone get that baby seat secure?

Should have come with a Baby on Board sticker though.

Now I suppose we now will start seeing babies in baby seats in GT cars on track. 👍 since they didn’t include a warning on that we can suppose it’s ok.

It 100% said that on the website configurator at minimum. That prevented me from getting buckets

Reactions when getting the recall letter:

a) Delighted not to have to go to dealer for some fix.

b) Equally delighted that there was nothing wrong with the ISOFIX / LATCH attachment points where my dog's harness is tethered.

I just bought a Bubble Bum inflatable booster for my 4YO and 40lb daughter. It works perfect for her occasional drive to school or cars and coffee. Unfortunately, no CXX Pepita option.

I have the Cosco Booster Car Seat and it fits the bucket seat, it's $15, Walmart carries a similar seat called Harmony

Great info, thanks. I may use that as a more permanent option, and save the inflatable for traveling and unplanned pickups.

Same here. Easy peasy. Lol at not getting the gorgeous and lightweight carbon bucket seats because of this (non)issue. RL never ceases to entertain.
