Not sure they would be too keen on providing that under warranty...appreciate the offer though !

Perforation circled in pen, exactly the same weld that perforated/came away last time. Arrows indicate where similar welds can be seen, some barely visible, at least one (directly behind the hole) quite prominent. I have no idea what these connect inside the tank, some sort of baffle perhaps?

was the last one still done under warranty? Do you know what the cost would’ve been out of warranty?

very odd failure ... do these get pressurized from the crankcase when the engine is running? i guess one would have to be cut open to get a better look at the design but i'm guessing we'll have to wait for more cars to come off of warranty for that to happen. That said, three identical failures in 8k miles would have me scratching my head.

And questioning the design and/or manufacturing.

Issue sits with both a manufacturer defect and design issue, turns out this time the pinch welds were fine but, one of the three bolts that goes through the tank (it’s welded on the inside) failed and was blowing oil out under pressure.

Lovely! $6400 and that’s probably at warranty rates. Hopefully this isn’t going to be a common failure.
