Buying a GT3 that has sat on dealer’s lot for months
Around 10 months to be specific.... it has had about 300 miles added during this time. It has seen negative temperatures as much as hot summer.
would you be concerned? Oil probably hasnt been changed for over a year. Would the car rattle/squeak due to long term moisture/cold/hot? would the very old oil in the engine start breaking down and have a negative impact?
anything else?

That car is fine. Most GT3s sit around not driven.
Change the oil.
Heat cycle the tires so they round out.

I'd be concerned with the 300 miles, which probably were 300 "test" miles meaning it was hammered. The oil isn't a problem. Request an oil change prior to taking delivery.
I would think you would be able to negotiate a pretty good deal on this one.
Good luck and let us know the outcome!

The market is so soft that dealers I speak to no longer take GT3s as trades - just cosignment.
Trying to get it to 20% below msrp.

‘No problem what’s so ever it’s a new car as another poster said change the oil. I’ve had new cars sit with 500 miles on the clock just no time to drive. I’ve learned not to own more than 4 cars because they sit. Also saved my pocket book. Good luck, and get it checked out.

the car is fine .. 300 miles in 10 months does not automatically mean test drives. A lot of times mangers take cars that are traded in and drive them for a weekend . That is some of the perks of the job.. Also when I test drive cars , I personally drive them less aggressively than my own cars .. so not all test drives are aggressive
minor concern is the dealership seem a little bit sloppy , they usually should keep tab on used cars inventory including scheduled maintenance , and this car needed oil change after 1 year of service. But overall not a big deal

With all the options out there, and with the paint in less than optimal condition by your standard, why not move on? I too believe you can simply negotiate they bring it up to service and since the car is under warranty it should be fine. You might consider finding one that is perfect by your standard and not settle with a 3k mile car that needs some paint help. Good luck in your search!

If the paint isn't deeply scratched or etched, it would be fine. Factor in $1600-$2000 for a two stage correction and ceramic coat. And I wouldn't let the dealer touch the car again if I were buying. Straight home or to the detailer.
3000 miles is nothing. I would just ask for an inspection. Is it certified?

I wouldn’t be worried not one bit. That’s just me.

I get the car mechanically is likely perfect. My question to the OP remains because he described the paint condition like a Jeep Wrangler that sat outside. I know that can be interpreted a variety of ways. I just wonder why not find the twin car somewhere that doesn’t need paint correction? I realize it is likely correctable but with so many options, what in this particular car would make someone look past that. Maybe it’s priced accordingly and it doesn’t matter to the OP.
