FAL absolutely saved me yesterday when driving through an area that i had no idea was under construction. you end up using it in the most unexpected of circumstances.

I can't 45 in/out of my garage or the driveway to the street. I barely scrape with FAL but would 100% scrape 4 times for each time I take the car out. I don't want to be replacing the lip frequently so went with FAL.

If your physical dimensions of your parking don't allow you to get out without scraping you will hate not having a FAL. Nobody wants to be scraping all the time.

Geez, I was going to say a better choice would be a 4x4 but I saw you are in San Fran! That is the primary reason what determines whether one needs it: location.

Well I need it go get in and out of my garage as a start then today I went to Palo Alto for lunch and I went in/out of several parking areas with fairly big dips to enter/exit. Can it be managed without it ? yeah maybe at 1mph and planning for various angles but FAL makes it so much more convenient. I DD my touring which makes it even more important.

If I were you I would have optioned it as well...the biggest hills here in FL are the beach dunes in my backyard, and I cannot drive my car there so no need.

Used it exactly zero times in the past 1 year and 2025 miles...

I like blondes, you like brunettes....which is better?

That’s why Baskin Robins make 31 flavors and Porsche offers cars with and without FAL.

Apples and Oranges - one either needs FAL or not since it is not a cosmetic item, unless someone likes the way the front looks raised! If so they are probably the same type of person that likes to drive around with their spoiler up as well.

Meh. Respectfully disagree. Owned a lowered, track aligned GT3 for 10+ years. Replaced plenty of $200 front lips, hundreds of scrapes, never any bumper or mounting points damage.

GT3 no FAL here, car isn't too low (compared to most super sports cars IMO) just be sensible and you're fine.

I can make it up my steep driveway at 45 degree angle in the GT3 w/ FAL down, but can't with the RS. And I have both cars lowered to what the spring perches allow. So if I could do it all over again, I wouldn't get FAL on the GT3 but will on the RS.

I need FAL to get into my driveway both the the new 2RS and the previous GT3, even approaching at a diagonal.

Yeah I guess many of us buy it like 90% because it’s cool. Buy if you need, and don’t if you don’t pretty simple.
