Default 991.2 GT3RS loose metal cable in engine bay

Hi everyone! Just got a 991.2 GT3RS and absolutely love it. I was cleaning the car this morning and popped the engine bay open, and saw a metal cable sticking out. I tried searching online and couldn't find info about it. Not sure it should be dangling free in the engine compartment that way. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Not too sure about your GTRS. My 997 CS2 has that cabe tucked behind the left wheel well for opening the engine bay in case the battery died.

That definitely shouldn't be dangling like that! Have the dealer fix it! I'm with HenryPcar,it's probably the cable to open the engine lid when the battery is dead...

Thanks! Just trying to figure out where it's supposed to go or be attached. It's unlikely that it should be loose in the engine compartment this way. Hoping someone with direct knowledge can chime in so I can avoid a trip to the dealer .

Looks like someone (you?) painted your engine cover too. Maybe when they took it apart they didn't put it all back together properly. Are you sure that's a .2 3RS?

Is that pic of your 991.2 GT3RS? If yes, that looks very different to the engine bay of a 991.2 GT3 RS which look like this -

Your car the fans are placed together like in a GT2 RS, so maybe they gave you a GT2 RS by mistake ?? Though other things look different from a GT2 RS engine bay too , which looks like this -

Looks like some other 911. It's not a GT3, GT3RS, nor GT2RS. At least not one I've seen, unless someone replaced the engine cover and fans for some reason...

Yea the fan placement looks also like vanilla GT3 too, but again other things look different -

You should find out what model you really have? And how if anything was modified.

Well it's clearly the GT2RS fan assembly with the silver GT2RS logos removed. But where are the rest of the shelf parts from? Maybe it was an an accident and they replaced it with lower cost parts?

I should've explained. The previous owner upgraded the wing and intake to the GT2RS carbon overall system. He put quite a bit of $ in it, and it looks awesome.

Interesting, more pictures please.

Would love to understand what improvements were achieved, considering it's neither truly a 2RS intake per say. The ducts appear to be too small.

So you're saying air is sucked into the throttle body via those ducts on the rear deck now instead of the side vents near the wheels?

Good thing the previous owner understands what an "upgrade" is better than the engineers at PAG.

That is a lot of money and changes to be throwing at a car still under warranty as well.
