Poll: How do you heel/toe downshift?
So there are a few threads (here is the most recent) on shifting manuals and the interaction with the auto-blip (sport button), rev-matching aka No lift shifting (NLS) and regular heel and toe shifting. Looking to gather some information on how people are shifting their MT 991.2 GT3s in this context. People are obviously doing it differently as they are experiencing frustration with the computers that help/hider shifting.
I'm only really concerned about down shifting (we can discuss up shifting else where if needed) in MT GT3s. Here are the options as I see them
Option 1 - "Regular Heel/Toe"
Option 2 - "Faster Regular Heel/Toe"
Option 5 - Neither, I don't really care about butter smooth downshifts.
Option 6 - What is Heel and Toe?
Option 7 - I just use PDK b/c its "better"
Option 8 - Double Clutch, nuff said.
Debate starts now please. If there are more options please add them to the list.

Option 1 - "Regular Heel/Toe"
- Take foot off gas and apply brake pressure slowing the car.
- Clutch In
- Shift down gear (say 3 -> 2)
- Release clutch and simultaneously blip throttle with right foot while maintaining pressure on break

Old people and/or those with old Italian car experience would add double-clutching to the list.

While double clutching is valid I'm trying to limit this to 991 GT3s. Are you suggesting that some people are double clutching on these cars and this should be in scope for the poll? I'm assuming that people that can double clutch will adjust their style to match the box/cat they are in - is that a bad assumption?

option 1 is incorrect
if you left of the clutch, blipping is pointless. you already upsetted the car. (you will feel the jolt)
option 2 and 3 is really same.
you can't do blip and shift same time. you will miss the right rpm
you need to blip fraction of a sec before you move into the gate of choice.

Yup...had a 911SC for most of my 20s and 30s...and a 911T with a 901 prior to that, along with another Alfa...decades of it to unlearn.
