991.2 GT3 manuals *PRICES FALLING*

I wish I was ready to pull the trigger! The market has dropped SIGNIFICANTLY.
A quick CarGurus search And I’m seeing PTS manuals, delivery miles, with PCCB, deviated stitch and FAL are in mid $170ks.(30k lower than months ago)
Even Porsche of Colorado Springs and Champion are blowing them out!
Is the anticipated 992 GT3 Making a huge impact on the secondary 991.2 gt3 market or what?
Opinions? Comments?

BTW for drivers: Love the 991.2 GT3. Awesome. So fun to rev. 4 track days. 5000 miles. Don’t want summer to end.

This is a timely thread for those of us that are considering adding a GT3 or GT3 RS to our collections of fun play toys... and, enjoy higher value per smile...
I noticed the softening in pricing early this summer and have been satisfied with my Turbo's enough that the GT3 purchase seemed partially redundant. Not only have the GT3's come back to earth, but at the recent Sotheby's auction in Monterey, prices were off by nearly 25% for many of the big hitters!
Classic car values go in cycles and no matter how you cut it GT3's are classics the moment they leave the production line.
New cars in particular --- depreciate, that is a fact of life. In the case of the GT3, there are sooooo many of them that were purchased for the purpose of speculation due to the perceived "limited" supply, that now, the pendulum has swung in the opposite direction. There are well over 250 used GT3's for sale at U.S. dealers and perhaps 300 more available privately.
When I bought my last 911 Turbo in February I also considered buying a 2019 GT3 RS (non-Weissach) with delivery miles only. It was floored at the dealership by a customer. They said --- firm at $325,000... no lower offer would be considered. I chuckled and walked...
Today I can buy a number of 2019 GT3 RS's with less than 300 miles for $250,000 and pick my colors and options.
Ya don't need to be a weatherman to tell which way the wind blows...

GT3s were in a 10 year bubble where they didn't depreciate, which mimicked the extended expansionary cycle. Now that's coming to an end....along with the cycle. So they're depreciating now. I don't think it's rocket science and it's good because a. people who couldn't get them before can get them now and b. people who already have them are too busy enjoying to care.

This thread is very disturbing on several levels. I bought my GT3 new from a dealer at a $330 discount two years ago (red steering wheel stripe was thrown in as a freebie) because I appreciate sports cars in general and Porsches specifically. I also appreciate the thrill of track days and backroads driving. I appreciate the fit and finish of a fine car especially after I've spent hours detailing it. That said, is it too much to expect the object of my affection to show a little appreciation in return??? To that end I am going to list my $154k GT3 for $275k so that I can be the first to reverse this heinous trend. You're welcome.

Stock market has been roughly flat for the past 2 years, trade wars are ongoing, recession has to come, 992 GT cars are coming, so I expect the bubble in used GT cars to deflate to sensible prices compared to new cars.

Your welcome.
What you don't think that was an accurate depiction?
Also, I have just been lurking here for years and then I finally signed up.
You should be happy that the forum is getting more and more members. It means there is more and more interest in the cars.
Or do you just prefer echo chambers? It worked well in 2016

If it slows down enough, we call it recession. Recession has to come, it's only a matter of time. The fear of recession is enough to cool off GT car sales.
I'm still irked that I couldn't get a '19 GT3 RS at MSRP, specced to my preference, after buying several new Porsches in recent years, and I welcome the market returning to a phase where people who actually plan to drive these cars are the ones buying them, and not having to pay a bubble markup to do so.

but GT car sales were over hyped from the start and there were people ordering more than 1 car for the purpose of resale giving a false sense of demand. Porsche instead of limiting went pretty much full throttle on production to satisfy this... and now there are more cars than buyers.
Its ok.
It happens. No big deal. Its still a really great car

In my opinion... the louder colors go through a swing
Orange was hot on the 991.1 RS... and then cooled
Purple was hot... then cooled
Green was hot... then cooled...
Yellow never ever really gets hot on any car. There are yellow buyers but fewer and far between.
My two favorite colors for porsches are Bahama Yellow and Speed Yellow. So... Id be all over a yellow car... however... I am not a fan of the racing yellow...
