Default GT2 Trailering experience

Just trailered my 2018 GT2RS to Colorado Springs for the one year service. It's a 6 hour one way pull. I used the front end lift to clear the ramps and hooked up the tow eye. The trailer is an enclosed Featherlight with a winch and you cannot open the car doors once the car is in the trailer.. I started the car while standing next to it with the window down using a stick to hold the foot brake. Next I shifted into neutral and shut off the car. I then released the parking brake. You cannot remove the key in neutral so just leave it in while you're loading. If you open the door with the car in neutral, the parking brake will automatically apply itself. This is why you do everything out of the car. Hook up the winch line and pull the car into the trailer. You can now shift into park and apply the parking brake and remove the key. Next, tie down the car.
To unload, put the stick on the brake foot pedal, start the car, shift the car into neutral and release the parking brake. Shut off the car. Push the car back and out of the trailer.
Hopefully this will help a few people if they indeed need to trailer their cars.

The easy solution is a trailer with a side door.

That's the way I do it. Really not that difficult and for a McLaren you need 2 broom handles. Don't forget to remove the key and put it in the tow vehicle.

Love it. MacGyvering a 350K car. At least when my friend used a similar trailer on her Demon she could get out the trunk. Side door, perish the thought.

Just trailered my GT3 manual to Monterey- it was nice to have a manual again so you don't need to start it to put it in neutral, but you still need a broom handle to press the brake and apply the parking brake.

I did that at the beginning of summer taking my 997 Turbo to the same dealer for service. I'm 6'4 218 pounds and not bending my body as much as a few years ago.
