A bunch of us on here have gone the Raptor route along with our GT cars. I think there’s even a thread on it if you search.

Yeah....pretty sure its going to be a battle on my end. It's "to big" in my wifes eyes.

Question...I currently have a 2018 c63 with a tune thats putting down around 600hp and close to that for tq.

I drove a 2018 gt3rs fairly recently and I wasn't that impressed with speed.

Have any of you raced a tuned amg before? I was pretty disappointed when driving the g3rs with the speed factor. Everything else I loved. However, if I get into a new car I'd want it to be faster then what I currently drive and I am about to buy a new house and after that a new car...I was thinking a gt3rs, but now i'm reconsidering.

Thanks!
Buy a turbo. Or better get a 720s. A gt3 rs definetly isn't for you.

Keep the tuned C63 and get a manual GT3
You should modify your RS3. You can make it faster than a modded C63 easily. Mine has just a few bolt-on mods and runs a 10.7 @ 130 on the factory turbo, which an average ET and trap speed for what I have done. Guys have gone 9s on the stock turbo, and with a bolt-on larger turbo they run 9s all day long with the factory engine and trans.

You mentioned owning an IS-F (I loved that car it was a lot of fun) and now a C63. Is a Panamera Turbo not a consideration? That car will behavior much more like with your previous cars, but probably even at a higher performance level. 0-60 is about 3.5 and it's in mid/high 11s for 1/4 time.

But please don't buy this one.

Terrible, some of the work these tuners do are just over the top unnecessary and a total abomination.

I have an Aston Martin Vantage that has the AMG GT's V8, I certainly understand where you're coming from, OP.

However, as everyone has stated, the GT3 is a different beast. I'll drive my GT3 (non RS, but has enough modifications to keep up with a .1 GT3RS) for a while then get the itch for a more torquey engine. Which is when I hop into the Vantage. The Vantage feels faster because of the torque, but it simply isn't so.

I actually traded in an '17 F80 BMW M3 for my GT3 (F80 has the twin turbo straight 6) so I can understand where you're coming from in terms of the GT3 not feeling as fast. My M3 was actually probably faster (FBO, 100% E85 via port infection kit, flash tuned pushed out over 600whp) but the experience of the GT3 is still unrivaled vs its German foes from BMW and MB. The sound cannot be matched by anything with turbos, the feel through the twisties certainly is on another level vs. the AMG/BMW M, and the overall feeling of driving a GT3 is different in a better way.

If you don't care too much about the sound, feeling, and/or prestige of the GT3, then I might say you're better off in a 991.2 Turbo S. Those things are rocket fast, look great, and are comfortable. I was launched in a 991.1 Turbo S and it was frightening, can only imagine the quicker .2 Turbo S.

if the OP wants to sample some of the Porsche bloodline and keep the torque of the AMG, just go for one of the 3.0 turbo 911s. Perhaps a 2018 GTS. Plenty of midrange torque and still the "911 feel". And you can tune the hell out of them.

The GT3 is a very sharp tool, but is very unique, and is not for everyone. I drove around for an hour yesterday -under- the speed limit just enjoying the sound of the clutch & shifter interaction. (along with the little intake 'gasp' that it makes). The car felt alive, tactile, and maybe even a bit of a 'throwback'. I'm am not saying anything bad about AMG. They are fine vehicles and can clear the head with a few accel runs. They cut-loose in a way that is fantastic.
