Attention all .2GT3RS track guys....want input
So I went out to Spring Mountain this weekend for the PCA Las Vegas (see picture below) and the car was a blast to drive (even though it was scary fast). I know I need roll bar w/ hardness, pads, fluid, slotted rotors, and probably some kind of exhaust set up but I need some input on alignment and road height...
What are the optimal cambers and toes for the front and rear (I know I need more camber due to outer tire wear)?
Have any of you guys adjusted the height of the car to change the rack (I went full aero on the car)?
What are the optimal sway bar settings?
Thanks in advance.

It’s all going to depend on you the driver and the track....but search the thread for the Road Atlanta record runs and Pete Stout posted RS ride heights and other specs. There is info out on the RS....nada zilch zero on the regular GT3 .2

Martin the thing to caution yourself on is over adjusting the rear toe due to the rear wheel steering...
Did you feel the car was overly loose or pushy on entry or pushy on throttle from apex out? If so- sway bar adjust.
Did you feel the rear of the car wobbly side to side while on max brake pressure? If so might need to lower the rear a tick.
If you go super low for ride height you will start skipping it off the apex curbs, but generally from street set up height you can drop the front 4-6mm and not have any issues. Any more than that and you start ripping off brake ducts and chin spoilers
Camber is generally just maxed out on the front, that being said road setups without changing parts they won't get over -3 degrees

^ right on.
if you align it like 997GT cars, 991 is not drivable.
also strangely, until you are at the limit, 991 is not that sensitive to alignment for me.
996 if it' off a tiny bit, it's not right
so is 997
991 literally drives itself.

For me:
Factory toe
Factory caster
Factory height
-2.5 camber all 4 corners
front bar middle
rear bar stiff
Max aero settings
After 3 days, the outer edge of the rear tires will be bald or corded. There's really no way around this. It's the consequence of RWS.
Mooty is right that alignment does not do much to the car in terms of handling characteristics. Only sway bar adjustments make a difference.
I hired a retired pro formula racer to instruct me over the weekend and he drove my car. I asked him what he would change/adjust with my car and he told me: NOTHING.

I didn't know it was the RAS that contributes to premature outer rear tires wear..I'm on the fence about the benefits of RAS and i didn't spec it on my new 992CS and i don't miss it..

Can I ask an unrelated question? Why the masking tape on the lights? They aren’t glass, and that tape is so thin it doesn’t seem like it would provide much protection. Have you considered TrakTape or similar if you’re concerned about things hitting the car?

The stock setup feels too soft for me. I will probably take to Emotion Engineering for Stage 1 setup soon and will report on settings.
BTW. Are you guys getting front tire rubbing on the back side of wheel well? I get rubbing at Thermal Desert circuit but not at others. Weird.

Thanks guys, I'm going to be putting an exhaust system and eliminating the side mufflers along with a lithium battery plus the roll bar and harness so I was planning on doing an alignment with a corner balance.

To protect the headlights from track debris. It has seemed to provide enough protection so far but I'll look into TrakTape.
