I think that he/the dealer arent into the topic like some owners and I think hes not that guy who will look under the car to check the engine-code. Afaik G6 is still the newest/best/last/final iteration. I just asked in case someone heard something similar.

Thank GAWD!
Otherwise I'd be quick to put another 20+k miles on my recent G6 motor to see if this one would also meet its demise.
Perhaps this thread should be deleted to avoid the potential chaos it could possibly cause, lol!

Saw owner’s comments in Misha Charoudin’s channel maybe it is might be true after all? Hopefully it’s just number that’s changed and nothing else 😅

Thats my conversation with him I was refering to ^^
Before I bought my GT3 I read every single post on rennlist concerning the issue. But when my E1 blew up the Porsche Dealer had no idea at all what I was talking about, when I said that I want a G6. Maybe we should take the "G7" with a grain of salt 😉

Edit: If noone can confirm that there is a G7 within the next 2 days I will delete my post to avoid confusion. I still think there is no G7

I cant delet/edit my posts.
@Admin pls delete all posts refering to a G7 engine.
To all: There is no G7, G6 ist still the newest and best and solved all issues afaik.

Default 10year warranty is over?

Has there been any news or update after the 10 year warranty with so many low mile cars not affected yet if Porsche, will split cost or something once the engine warranty is over with failure

Deleted. I was wrong about the G numbering method. According to another thread there's no G1xxxx or G2xxxx or G3xxxx, the G number went from G0xxxx right to G6xxxx.

Curious to know if the numbers of G engines built currently in the 4 digits or 5 digits. G0xxxx or Gxxxxx?

Here is my G6 engine number replaced Aug 2022. Have near 5k miles on new motor, and thing pulls like beast mode! Very happy thus far.

Do you recall what it was like when it happened and what your next steps were, I think this just happened to me as well?

Question, was the car still under the normal warranty or the bulletin warranty with engine replacement... I think I may have just had this failure, my non-dealer servicer ran a few test, cleared the codes and reran the car and it miss fired cylinder 6 on 2 different occasions. The next steps were pressure test and fuel injector test, $$$ they recommend going to the dealer because the dealer will do the same things anyway. The Engine Control Fault light is on and the Reduced Power light went on but goes away after starting but max rpms are limited to about 7800 before is shuts down and throws the reduced power code agian.
Just looking to understand the next steps or process vs the dealer finding something minimal and charging me to drop the motor and whatever else lol.

Thx

In my case I was simply enjoying a twisty drive going 29 mph into a tight turn when I felt reduced power and the CeL codes emitted.
Had two initial different engine color faults; one yellow and one red with the latter appearing first.
I pulled over, shut off ignition, waited a min, then restart, and the red fault went away, but the yellow remained; however, when I attempted to reach RPMs in the 6+k range the car was not having any of that, and the red fault would reappear. I have a video of it, but can't seem to get it to post here, but do have two pics:

First fault code (red).

Second fault code (yellow).
You are in a good location to have an experienced dealer tech perform the analyses and engine replacement. I would definitely recommend going to whichever dealer you want and ask of their experience with this 991.1 GT3 FF issue as I feel is a VERY important factor in not only diagnosis, but physical motor swap.
For that very reason I had my car sent 400 miles down to my original servicing dealer and that paid dividends. I was shocked the tech was able to do the coil/plug swaps between cylinders and order new motor same-day!
Fault codes were: P0300, P0304, and P0305 with repeated faults for cylinders 4 & 5.
The intake side was completely shot for both cylinders, and the metal-to-metal contact/wear from the tech's pics are shocking.
Hope this is helpful.
