Does any motor replacement owner know exactly which components came new vice swapping parts from the old motor?
For instance; the drive belt.......Does a new belt come with a new motor, or is it swapped from the old?
I cannot get a straight answer despite my amazing dealership motor replacement process experience.
To me this is important as I now have to keep track of the physical chassis mileage maint intervals and also a new motor maint interval.
I was able to zoom-in on a few photos of the new motor install, and the belt appears new, but looks can be deceiving.
Appreciate any verified responses, and TIA! G6 motor Install #1
New motor in, test drive, repeat CPO inspection within 24 hrs of receiving replacement engine at dealership, which included alternator, A/C compressor, exhaust manifold with new cats, etc. Now, will start new motor break-in. Very pleased with Porsche response and dealership attention.
Would you happen to know if the new motor also came with a new drive belt?
I would be Surprised if they use anything from the old engine. I would think everything is as New from Porsche.
I like to work with facts and never speculation especially when it comes to my service maintenance, and also do not wish to waste money on items not requiring time/mileage service intervals.
It would be very nice and professional if PAG or Porsche N.A. could VERIFY to all 991.1 motor replacement owners exactly what have or have not been included in the replacement process, e.g. does my G6 motor require the '16 GT3 RS oil filter or not (some report it does while others report does not); is there an in-fact motor break-in period (some report yes/others report no) which parts were swapped from old platform to the new affecting maint service intervals; verification of new motor SER # listed on the hard copy invoice (some are/some are not); and, what did Porsche do internally to remedy the FF/Cam Wear issue giving us piece-of-mind vice lots of speculation for which there have been some really crazy 'speculations' out there causing not only confusion, but tarnishing the rep of an incredible 911 GT3 variant.
Just my two-cents, and I understand each dealership often do their own thing; however, given the magnitude and scope of this campaign it would be nice if they could set a common standard.
Perhaps this is an issue for the Porsche N.A. ATL HQ head of Customer Relations to tackle. She's a great person as well as a true enthusiast, and also a fellow 991.1 GT3 driver.
Calm down lol. I had all of those questions in 2019 and it's all been reported in Rennlist. In short, everything is new with your new engine. Exhaust manifolds/cats, ancillary components, and the belt that drives them. You'll be responsible for new air filters however, and the rest of the exhaust system after the cats is reused.

Appreciate the info, and thank you.
Funny as did mention at pickup wish I had thought about replacing the filters at that time.
Thought I had scoured every thread in RL searching for my answers, and would be nice to have it all centrally located.
I shall find out next week at oil change in regards to the filter as I purchased both to be safe, and the dealer invoice after the break-in period still lists the old E-series part #.
Think was also crap I had to go under myself to check the new motor SER#. Seems a no-brainer the dealer would list on the paperwork, but in my instance nope.
CARFAX also is NOT a reliable source to verify maintenance intervals let alone an entirely new motor install as it's not listed.
Thanks again!

That's not accurate according to my local dealer. The cases are remanufactured, not new.
