Because many buyers simply don't have enough fu money to buy. Or simply bought into the hype of no depreciation lol. It's a car, you will lose money for goodness sake!

it's the "Fake it til you Make it" crowd. Actually I do see alot of the BMW/Mercedes crowd moving into the Porsche market.

Because most are upside down in them. They expect these cars to be a safe bet to stretch themselves with long loans. They thought the 991 would be like the depreciation/appreciation of 997 gt3/RS. But then Porsche made so many 991 GT3s they aren't holding value as they hoped.

Well that's mean. Moving to GT3's is a natural progression for M3 guys. I'm not sure if people are sad that GT cars are not only available in supply but now obtainable by normal people, but I get that vibe on here a lot. If you want to win the exclusivity pissing contest then buy something that they didn't make thousands of?

Op, the value discussion got brought into this via the external factors like false scarcity followed by overproduction, ADM's, dealership games and speculators attempting to ride the wave of success. So we've all got to witness many dynamics in the GT market in the past 12 months, throw in global economic doom and gloom and before you know it you'll now have the most boring soap opera on any car forum.

I work really hard to reach the depreciation plateau on my cars, that way I don't feel guilty driving the **** out of them. Getting there is half the battle with a kid in tow and a wife that wants me around as much as possible (so finding a whole day to break away and just drive, is challenging but I try).

My rule is that the purchase price of all toys combined has to be less than 5 percent of total net worth. That way I don't care about their value and can use them as disposable toys. If a car or other toy is a meaningful percentage of your total net worth, you're very likely to worry about its value. While I don't think that's a wise position to be in, I wouldn't criticize others for doing so. Different strokes. Who is more the enthusiast, the billionaire with a garage full of low mile exotics that he mostly shows off to his buddies or the working guy for whom fast cars are such an obsession that he spends his last dime on it? I'll give that latter guy the benefit of the doubt when he expresses a little bit of interest/concern about values.

maybe the econ is tanking worldwide and glory days of auto bubble is over, when you can drive a car for free for a few years and switch to the next toy. Pple are getting anxious about being in debt over price inflated toys..who knows lol

There was a guy in another thread ripping mad at Porsche owners for paying adm and he says he's had 30 911s.
So I'm trying to figure out who is throwing around all the hate... I paid 6k over and I don't care where prices are going over the next year or 2.
But I thought most folks angry with this market and dealers and flippers and owners etc,... were just angry cause they don't/can't have one..

I'd be curious how many folks out there that are furious about pricing are owners of 991 gt cars?
I can't imagine too many owners being so bent out of shape about … heck.. anything really :-)
