Default Help to remove 3RS bumper please

I'm trying to remove rear bumper on 991.2 3RS to do some exhaust mods but struggling to remove two fasteners in the rear wheel wells. The two are (poorly) shown in the attached photos. I was able to remove bumper on my 991.1 GT3 fairly easily so think I have enough tools but the angle of those on the RS make it really difficult. My only thought is to remove the wheels but I don't have a lift or jacks at hand. Appreciate any thoughts, tips, tricks or help from anyone whose done this before. Many thanks, Matt.

BTW - I'm removing the side mufflers and replacing with FabSpeed valved deletes so maybe there's a way to do this without removing bumper? I know a few of you have removed your side mufflers so looking to the collective to help me out - I need the sound!!!! Many thanks,

You never have to remove the bumper for any exhaust mods. If you take the rear wheels off the side mufflers come right out. Even doing headers you can do a full exhaust without removing the bumper. Just pull the rear wheels off.

Is that with or without a lift?

Thanks Ryan. My issue is I don't have means in my garage to get wheels off. I was taking bumper off purely to aid access. Can you get side mufflers out without taking bumper and wheels off? It looks like it might be possible but not sure if there's enough access?

They dont drop straight down. Those are T27/T25 screws. Go get junk hydraulic jack for $40 at auto parts store and take wheels off on Jack stands. While save HOURS of work if it can be done getting to the bolts needed to remove.

You can get those screws out by just jacking the car up and using a 1/4” drive. It’s a tight fit between the tire but it can be done. There is an additional screw on the RS under the wheel well liner that you have to lift up to see.

Agree. Jack the car up and you get the inch of clearance you need. I always remove the rear bumper to do some exhaust mods. More room to work.

Matt, I was able to use a mini flex head socket on one side and a thumb wheel socket on the other side. I also have my 13yo son who has much smaller arms.

Matt, just bring the car over to my house and get it on the lift. Save your back. I'm younger than you and my back is hurting just thinking of you crawling on the ground.

I have done a lot of exhaust work on my 991.1 and 991.2 GT3 RS.

If you don’t want to remove the bumper and wheels, you need to undo the headers (9x 12mm bolts torqued at 16 lbs-ft), so you can drop the side mufflers.

If you remove the wheels, no need to drop the headers to remove the side mufflers.

There is no need to remove the bumper for exhausts installations in the 991 GT3s.
