My patience paid off and a very nice 2RS owner sold me his take off black center which was replaced with the carbon fiber. Debating whether to use the bolt inserts or the plain ones. I am leaning toward the non-bolt ones as it is more conservative.

I briefly thought about painting my silver center body color (I am getting colored nipples from rstrada — love those guys — so I could have mailed it to get it painted), but I think that would have been a bit too much.

So bolt style inserts or non-bolt style inserts? What sayeth the Rennlist style police?

sweet write up! Just confirming these little guys are T10 as I need to order that bit and want to make sure I order the right one!

T10

I have a ryobi kit of screw and assorted bits from Home Depot and a craftsman magnetic bit holder screw driver thing. One of those bit assortments has been invaluable. Not sure why everyone keeps coming up with new fasteners ....

I went with plain. 30 minutes agonizing over bolt style or non-bolt, 30 min to do the actual work .... sheepskin slipper power.

I like the bolts but either way works well; however, how can one have all that Black and leave the airbag trim ring Silver?!

Bob Z., It matches the vents I did not get covered in leather ... at least that is what I am telling myself because I know the speedy airbag will be mega bucks.

so, I can just buy the CF wheel from Suncoast and use it on my RS?

It would be nice to have multifunction on the wheel though.

so if there's no wires on the gt3 stalk for the control box loom..... there's no sense in connecting/ transferring the control stuff as it simply wont work.... good. I was debating whether to cause having pcm control would be ok with me but....

Had to get yellow stitching done at local upholstery shop to match my deviated stitching motif.....

If you either buy the MF delete parts or swap them from your current wheel, yes, you can buy the CF wheel from suncoast and use it on your RS. So far no one has figured out how to enable MF on a GT car.

That's a great look with the blue inserts! I've looked but can't rally find it, if you (we) have the GT3 wheel and just want to replace the front spoke inserts, why does the entire wheel need to be taken apart? why can't the 2 hex screws just be remove and the piece replaced? thanks for any input.

Which wheel are you referring to? If it is the Sport wheel that has what appear to be 2 screws on each of the 3 inserts DO NOT try to unscrew them since they are decorative only!

Those screws don’t actually hold them on. They are purely decorative screws. . Of course, if you unscrew them, they come out and then can’t go back in without disassembly.

Ordered the carbon fiber steering wheel to add to my GT3. Inspired by this thread, looks like an easy swap.
