Hey John,
I really would like to add the CMD to my GT3. How would you describe the drone of the race version against the drone of SMD with the valves open all the time? Btw love my SMD best mod so far.

This week I put on Akrapovic centre bypass and Akrapovic link pipes. My car only has 350km on it so still running engine in, my revs are kept below 5k, mostly below 4K. I'm loving the sounds being made by the setup and think it suits the car well. My only hesitation at this point is the volume. Need some more seat time but I'm thinking it's too loud, would be better for me if the volume could be turned down 1-2 small notches. Or at least have the option to.
John - can I combine your valved link pipe with the Akrapovic centre bypass?

This week I put on Akrapovic centre bypass and Akrapovic link pipes. My car only has 350km on it so still running engine in, my revs are kept below 5k, mostly below 4K. I'm loving the sounds being made by the setup and think it suits the car well. My only hesitation at this point is the volume. Need some more seat time but I'm thinking it's too loud, would be better for me if the volume could be turned down 1-2 small notches. Or at least have the option to.

Well, it's been 5 months. How goes it with these video comparisons? I can't speak for anybody else, but I'm not buying a single exhaust product from anybody without:
1. Comparison videos (stock vs product)
2. Dyno chart (stock vs product)
The last thing I want to do is spend money on something to sound cooler only to reduce hp/tq in the process. Even if it's minimal.

I've driven enough of these cars on track, on the street, and reviewed acceleration/mph data between cars with various combinations of exhaust systems to know that after the headers the performance change is negligible. I've seen and felt no difference good or bad in performance from side muffler bypass pipes or center muffler bypass pipes, and I see no reason to invest the time and effort to dyno those particular products as I don't sell them for that. If you're concerned about power loss you can ask anyone in this thread, or I can provide you referrals to chat with, to discuss what they have experienced for themselves in real world conditions. I have not had a single complaint. If you still have hesitation, I have a proposal for you personally that I feel would meet your goals and help you feel more comfortable moving forward with something. However I can tell you the quality of the Soul Pipes, the price and sound is outstanding. Dealing with John at Soul and other places he has worked I have found him to be a guy just like us....a track and performance guy. He is honest with what he sells...he just wants happy customers. I currently run my side pipes with the valves unplugged. The car sound great on the street from 2-4k rpm with open valves. Barley any drone around 2100-2400rpm just every the slightest but not a sound sound like other exhaust systems I've had in other cars.
FourT6And2 I suggest you give John at Soul a call and buy the Side Muffler Pipes....you cant loose...then if you want louder just unplug the valves...then if you want even louder call him back and buy his center muffler delete. You have a well built completely modular system this way.

The risk here is so low that I submit if there is any loss at lower RPMs it will not be noticeable or impactful.

Cool, you ditched 30-40 lbs off the rear of the car. But you lost 5-10hp in the process. And you had to spend money to do it. I'm not saying this what actually happens. But personally, I'd want to know before wasting the time and money. If you can save 30-40 lbs AND not lose any power, then awesome. So far, of the 8 companies that offer valved side bypasses, not a single one has provided data to support the claims.
I'm not picking on Soul, specifically. This applies to anybody selling these things.
