991.2 GT3 ECU
At a recent Rd Atlanta track event, I noticed other .2 GT3’s really pulling away from me on the straightaways. My best Vmax on the back straightaway according to my AIM was 158.
I hit 164 on the back straightaway at Rd Atlanta in my previous 991.1 GT3 and routinely hit in the low 160’s.
I started the weekend with approximately 870 miles on my car and finished the Saturday with about 1,011 miles.
I was talking with my Motorsports shop about this and he called a Porsche mechanic at one of the dealerships to discuss. The mechanic said that Porsche uses the ECU to keep the power dialed back until approximately 1200 miles. Then the ECU is programmed to “open-up” and let the car have full power.
Does that sound legit?

It sounds ridiculous....but I just got my annual service done (I just crested 2000 miles). They also did a software update. It felt much faster. I wouldn't even say it was in my head either since I didn't even think to feel for it. I just felt a difference immediately.
Of course it could REALLY all be in my head...

i noticed that on my 3 previous 911
that s why mooty shouldn't have sold so early his touring...

PEC Le Mans GT3 (200km) felt significantly down on power vs GT3 (500km) rented for Masters Mugello - I assumed it was restricted for PEC but didn't ask. Never pushed my own car hard enough during first 1000km to notice if there was a difference.

Yeah, I kinda thought the same at first...Just poor driving and less exit speed. But didn’t make sense when comparing to my 991.1 GT3 data.
I am having 1200 mile service done before Sebring in January. I guess I can see if there’s a difference after the service.
I report back if any obvious difference

When is the next service??
I need to follow this. I got an oil change at 1000 miles and now have 3200 but car sleeping for Winter.
