Default Weissach pkg

I am down to the wire to lock my build. I have been considering the Weissach package. I know it’s essentially cosmetic but I like it.

A few weeks ago the US configurator stated the exposed carbon hood version (808) was no longer available. They then added painted hood version (909) for the same $18k.

Yesterday, the configurator changed and if the 808 is selected, it no longer states it is unavailable.

Does anyone have insight on whether the 808 pkg is again available.

My my car locks in a few days and would really like to find out ASAP.

Thx for your time.

My dealer in NY called me and said that 808 is available again. I did add 808 to my build.. still waiting to see of Porsche accepted my mod.
Will know in a few days. Also I dont think 808 is just cosmetic.

Thanks for the response. I was hoping that was the case. I am going to have my SA submit the build with 808 WP tomorrow.

Then if not really cosmetic what is it? Did we miss something?

I skipped. Its cosmetic and in its original guise, ugly. I like the painted hood or the cutouts 2RS style.

Some suspension parts in CF, but overall it is cosmetic. I like the look, I dont think it looks ugly -- a bit over the top... yes.

My build is black, and I was looking forward to the hood being carbon as well as the roof and wing. With black, I like it. With other colors, you could argue the 909 works better. Comes down to personal taste. We tried substituting the 808 for the 909 this morning and it stayed v200. Dealer says we won't know for sure until tomorrow (not sure why - I thought it rejected immediately before). Either way, looking good so far.

My dealer tried to change my order from yesterday with 909 to 808 today no go... due to shortage of parts.

This is strange to see that it seems not to be the same "yes" or "no" between US and Europe.
P70 (808+TI cage) has been confirmed from Porsche AG last week in a Belgian dealer.

Maybe at the beginning of 2019 808 and 909 will be both available if they produce more parts ?....

Its definitely personal taste thing. The WP looks much better in person vs. pics. I really like the look, very motorsport.

It's definitely eye popping in person. You don't get the detail of the CF in pics. The contrast between the paint color, the CF and the black trim works nicely.

So the overwhelming conclusion that WP is useless and overpriced? Seems like 18K for some exposed CF and stickers...
Am I correct?

The most vocal rennlist opinion is that, however roughly 60% of the GT3RS's built for North America have the 808 option.
