Most important, nothing happened to you and your family!!!! This is really scary.

One of my cars was stolen out of my garage, an other friends Cayenne in front of his house and a friends rivera blue GT3 just recently from a fully secured garage with the Porsche anti theft system with a GPS signal and 24/7 service center coverage.... police has no idea how this could happen... there is no way you could stop professionals doing their job.

Vehicle registrations are official documents in Sweden. Anyone can basically ask for a list of cars of a certain type.

What I think about that? - You tell me

So sorry to hear Kobalt.

As many others have said the great news is that they caused you and your family no harm.

Everything else is super annoying but it's good to know that the worse that can happen moving forward is getting your money back from your insurance.

Sorry about your car, hope you get your money back from insurance and secure another one with similar specs

Unfortunately, as I understand it I think the GT2RS builds for Europe are over due to emissions.

Hopefully they can recover Kobalt's car before it gets molested and he can enjoy it even more ... but again, of all the things that could have gone wrong once these lowlifes decided to breach his property, no matter how this turns out, getting his car stolen is the best of all the bad outcomes. The way the world is today I'm grateful, as I am sure he is, that he's here to tell the tale.

Horrible to hear. Hope the Swedish police locate the car and catch the thieves. Glad no one in your family was injured.

Sorry to hear Kobalt, I wouldn’t have expected this in Sweden. Hope the car is recovered in one piece. Makes me sick to my stomach

Because theives can amplify the signal from your key in your drawer to unlock your car in the driveway, assuming you have keyless entry. Not uncommon here, we had it done twice on my wife’s Audi before I got OCD about it.

Your wife's Audi had the signal cloned/hacked twice?

Are they able to start the car this way or just unlock it? I'd imagine this is more common for thieves trying to access the trunk etc. for an easy grab vs. stealing the car.

They can start the car this way. With the repeater device the car thinks the key is in the car. Most cars will still run after the key is removed, it may give a warning tone but as long as you don't shut the car off it will still run.
