Lap times.
458: 1:43.3
GT3: 1:43.6
GT3s and RS historically always punch above their weight. This is what makes them legendary and a force to be reckoned with even by more expensive machinery

I think 90% of drivers use the cars for personal experience and enjoyment ..........lap times have never come to play into my buying decision. Everyone needs to stop trying to be Chris Harris not gonna happen. Look at the mileage on these cars across the board they're not being driven and full of clear wraps and paint protection. Just drive and have fun ........I love my Ferrari, and my RS but different cars. If I had to choose it would be the Ferrari because a better car to drive on the street, and if the track was the majority of my driving would be the Porsche all day long. That's why you need both

Have toyed with the notion of switching my FGT for a 458 at times.

Torque is the most usable performance attribute for every day street driving (ie. 100% of the time for most owners).

look- I own both Porsche and Ferrari. These comparisons are silly. Gt3 is an awesome machine. But it’s not a Speciale.
A car car is more than track time. It’s about emotion, it’s about staring at it in your garage. It’s about going out on a night out with your significant other. It’s also speed and power.
both speciale and gt3 are amazing machines but you just can’t compare th two.

Ford GT is a special car also tough choice not sure about that one. My philosophy I’ve driven over 200 MPH, and you get numb to speed, and honestly I’m actually fed up with the HP wars. I like usable HP and some fun, and for me the 458 V8 redline to 9K rpm it puts a smile on my face everytime I drive the car it never gets old. With that said nothing handles like the GT cars ...that’s why I got another RS, and I will enjoy both of them. Ferrari’s to me are stil special from being a kid.

That wasn't even the 991.2 four liter GT3. I am trying to get a test drive in the 488 but have not had a chance with the Ferrari dealers near me. I am sure the 488 is great.

Yeah, the FGT is a keeper for me. Wonderful car in every respect. I know I would regret letting it go. Last of the true mt analogue American supercars. Their values have plateaued but I think they will be on the rise in the future.

I largely agree with this - having said that the 488GTB didn't move me as much as I thought it would and I have still to find a space in my personal garage for a Ferrari. In terms of lap times its always down to the driver skill level with these cars. In essence, if you're not regularly competing in timed events (and the shake down sessions that need to be done before these events) the lap times don't matter.

If it was all about speed and track times, get an Ariel atom at 1/4 the cost and blow everything out of the water.

I would not suggest a GT3 is better. Just one heck of a bargain.

First, love Ferrari. Give me a Speciale and i will drive the wheels off it. But that photo wasn’t really a comment about track capabilities, as much as it was the balance of the car, and the bargain vs a killer car like the Speciale. But a Speciale is a dream of mine, as is a 4.0. Well, and a TDF! And a CGT. And...
