You definitely want a mac dealer that is either close to you or will pick and deliver. Most seem to within a 2 hr drive of their location.
The creep while trying to stop definitely takes some getting used to.

Then I got back in my 911 and they felt over-servoed. Lol.

I still like my mantis green 570S. This car has been pretty bullet proof for me. They are not all like that. It is a great driver on the street and back roads. It is also a very capable track car. Pretty fast and nimble. Must keep the ESC off or dyn though. Steering is great. Braking gets some time to get used to but it’s good. I prefer Porsche brakes though. The 570S has a kick *** stereo system too that I enjoy on the street. I put a little larger Trofeo Rs on the car and it makes it a lot better. I also like embarrassing my kids some times by picking one of them up in it and having the doors swing up. Such a fun car. It is nice to have other options than Porsche. Porsche is still my favorite though. Still waiting for my manual PTS GT3...

test drove multiple MACS, 650, 12c, 570s/570 GT, agree that the brake feel is weird and the foot well space felt crowded which also compromised the brake feel.I remember on my first test drive of 12 c I kept asking the salesperson if the brakes are ok, and my concern over stopping distance , affected the overall driving experience

Funny this popped up. McLaren is currently doing an event this weekend in N FL to meet with interested buyers and I had some time with this beautiful 570 spider. I love the looks of the spiders but would prefer to get a 570GT since I road trip a lot and would also do some track events. The steering and handling is razor sharp. Service is once a year and they handle the transportation to and from the dealer. I'm very close to cheating on Porsche...

For me just the eye candy appeal has me coming home on DD days and going into the garage first to have a beer or two just walking around it. I have taken it to work a few times and I have my own parking place just outside my window, no fear of door dings. Sadly, live about 1000 feet from work. Interior fit and finish is right there with my GT3. IRIS, supposed equivalent to PCCM, is a bit wonky. It does get attention but don't care. 3/4 throttle easy launch in NORMAL mode has me thinking about when it is going to lift off. I just like driving the thing even though it does not have that NA kick in the butt from the GT3. Acceleration just feels seamless. Feels more like a jet taking off but more intense.
No regrets at all and today I got to drive a friends new GT3 at autocross, in a drizzle. Not a fair comparo but I do not control the weather.

Not to steal from this thread but waiting in a few years for the new Vantage S in a Manual. The Vantage is out and next year comes the Manual so the "S" should be right around the corner.

Spent a lot of time in a 570S last week on Autobahn and the ring. Car had track bucket seats and a beautiful race like interior. Warp speed fast acceleration and decent handling. Still felt weird, very firm monocoque and softly sprung. Car was on street tires that obviously didn’t help. The lack of aero was very notacible on the ring.
A very nice car but I would take a 991.2gt3 every day of the week over the 570. Attracks attention like a Lambo, which is a downer in my book.

How's the resale on non-LT Macs like these esp when you cross the 10K threshold? I'm guessing it's give/take. Mark-ups and long waits for a .2 GT3 v dealers eager to move out old Mac inventory. The 911 holds value much better and last longer, are more reliable, etc.

For those with knowledge (either owned one or close bud owned one) - how much dealer maintenance is required on the new Macs?
I ask this because one of the reasons I haven't owned a Ferrari in about 10 years is the lack of a Nashville dealer. I use indy's for almost all of my maintenance but every now and again there is something that you just need the dealer to do. Having to go the ATL for that is a bit of a pain.
Maybe obviously: but we don't have a Mac dealer here either.

I had a 650S recently and I’d take a GT4 or GT3.2 over it any day of the week.
The one thing I really miss about the McLaren is how comfortable it is. I did a 2000 mike road trip to Joshua Tree Park with my girlfriend in it and it was like riding in a Bentley. It’s a great CAR, but not very involving to drive compared to Porsche’s GT cars. In other words: I’d take a GT P car on track and canyon roads, and a Mac for long-distance travel.
