Didnt anyone read in the opening narrative about a spill or fluid in the corner that caused the incident?

The Ring is a public road. TF is an event on the Ring, on a public road.

the cost of all of this story is between 1000-1500k€

because 15 cars was involved (and this is the law in france and germany) the 15 cars insurance (because all car was with number plate) will support the cost with a repartition of the cost will be clear during 2018 after expert report, for my case the insurance refund me the car (171k€) but sure my insurance company will fight with the other (nurburgring company, other insurance, porsche, the dealer who made the service of the 997 etc...) to reduce the cost, this is the process indicated by my insurance company

Not a lawyer guy just interested in the incident as someone who's going to this place frequently would like to educate myself. Iv heard from friends the owner of the car was responsible for the damages. Would be a warning to all of you attending this place with no insurance...

The Ring in his TF or trackday forms is the most expensive circuit in the world, every Sunday is several hundreds of thousands euros it the pockets of who should organize the security.
When you hit a barrier you pay crazy repair costs as if those guardrails were made in carbon fiber by PAG.
Years ago I had to pay 1.5K euros because my Lotus lose 3 liters of coolant in a corner (due to a mother****er German mechanich).
It is simply unacceptable that during TF there’s almost no marshalls and who is there is always sleeping or drinking a Weiss beer.

Yellow lights every 500 meters ready to switch on when there’s a signaled crash or a car kisses a barrier (sensors in the guardrails), it’s not that difficult.

Not ever driving der ‘ring now, wonder if Porsche Euro Delivery Insurance covers shenanigans like this if your new GT3 were to puke and inflict $1M Euros of damage.

It’s the West World of tracks...people stopping on the line, unbuckling harnesses and getting OUT of a caged car to walk around like it’s a Costco parking lot while others are slamming into each other at 150kph.

How come cars aren't provided a comm device (walkie talkie?) that alerts them as soon as there is a crash?
wouldn't that help?

1) You mean for those cars that don't have a radio.
2) How much extra would you be willing to pay for that rental?
3) It would still need an improvement of the # of track marshals

My understanding is Yes, with only 1,000 Euros deductible (road or track)

Hey Seb: Excellent video. Bummer on the crash but big of you to put it out there for others to learn from and glad you and your brother are safe. I hate anti-freeze - been a victim myself but thankfully no crash, just spins. All cars on track should use Water Wetter or similar.

Hard to know what to say

(1) Its touristenfahrten - ..........
(2) you don't need to wear a helmet - this tells you what you need to know
(3) there are many different types of vehicles on the track moving at very different speeds - this tells you what you need to know
(4) most people are on street tires - this tells you what you need to know
(4) there are many levels of driver competency on the track, mostly not skilled - this tells you what you need to know
(5) the conditions vary across the track - this tells you what you need to know
(6) there are very few marshals - this tells you what you need to know
(7) there is a phone number you call if you have an accident - this tells you what you need to know

From that video, there was only one guy who tried to get it right and that was the guy in the modified car that was able to pull up to the barrier, leap it and warn others (even then he should have driven through the crash site if he was able to do so - before getting out of the vehicle and over the barrier).

Saw another view of the crash. This car got away by driving through the crash.

Biggest problem was the car parked on the right before the coolant,
this caused a lot of bad things
