Default Swapping .1 and .2 GT3 headlights.

Does anyone know if you can install .1 GT3 headlights on a .2 GT3? Will they fit? The .2 fender looks slightly different, not sure if the headlights are too.

I love my my black Xenons on my .1 GT3. I also want black headlights for my .2, but I prefer the look and weight of the Xenons and the only black headlights for the .2s are LEDs, which are more expensive and less visually appealing to my eyes, but most importantly the LEDs are about 15 lbs heavier.

I would love to just order my .2 GT3 with the base Xenons and then order .1 black PDLS Xenons lights separately and install those on my .2 if it’s possible, but I also want to ensure that one way or another, my .2 GT3 has black headlights, so I don’t want to be stuck without black headlights if this can’t work.

Looking at the PET, the headlights are different part numbers for the .1's and .2's. The .2's are bolted in, and the .1's have the locking mechanism. Maybe you could add the locking mechanism, but you would need to get a look at the 991.2 fender to see what they've done with the head light mounts. Might be able to be done, but wouldn't be plug and play.

Took a look at the front fenders and they are the same for the 991.1 and 991.2, which means the headlight mounting area is the same. I would bet just adding the locking plate would allow the .1, lights in a .2

991.1 - item 30 is the locking system

Thanks Todd.

I wonder if if the headlight wiring is different for the .1 vs the .2? If the wiring harness don’t mate, that could be an issue.

I also wonder if the wiring harness is different for a PDLS headlight? Thinking I should maybe get the PDLS .2 Xenons, as the .1 black headlights all come with PDLS.
