Don't get excited, yet. ![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Just per AP's latest interview/quote via Road & Track:

Just per AP's latest interview/quote via Road & Track:
"Porsche quotes a 3.0-second sprint to 60 mph for the new GT3 RS, but that's not the impressive number here. Preuninger says a Nurburgring lap time won't come until the spring, when weather improves, but he's got very high hopes for the GT3 RS.
His guess? "At least" 10 seconds quicker than its predecessor, which puts it right around 7:05. That'd be an incredible time for a car that "only" has 520 hp on tap."

So the GT3.2 is ~7:12.... who's optimistic for a sub-7' mark for the GT3RS.2?
We'll see this spring I hope.

I'm not gong to read too much into this car's Ring time. It has so much downforce, I think that it's lap-time gap % to the GT3 will be more on a "normal" road course, then perhaps the N-Ring due to aero drag it has at higher speeds compared to the GT3. Who knows.
That said, I still think it will be sub-7.

7:05 would be slower than the Viper ACR.

FYI - the prior RS's time was 7:20, so 10 seconds faster would only be 7:10. I agree that they'll beat this though (since GT3 is under 7:13). Under 7 minutes is possible, but would require a very nice drive...

A car has 4 times the downforce when traveling twice the speed.
I wonder when Porsche is going to provide an active rear wing like Lambo and McLaren to reduce drag when going straight? This will make a big difference to Ring time.

And to top the manual ACR-E's 7:01 will be a nice challenge.... the super Viper has mega downforce (which kinda hindered its time on the long highspeed straights of the Ring btw).
Bring it on!

I sure want to hear what is the exact time, but it won't tell the full story of its performance compared to some other cars. The track has become faster each year due to resurfacing and smoothening of the circuit (this winter a lot of stuff was done once again), and the car will be equipped with a new grippier tire compound. Both are big reasons why 991.2 GT3 had so much faster time than the 991.1 RS - and I bought the 991.2 GT3 so not a fanboy for the 991.1 RS, just stating some facts.
I'm sure it will be fast enough.

No way will it go sub 7, I really don't think it will be as fast as the Manthey .1 RS at 7:10+-. The Ring obviously requires tons of downforce since it is such a high speed track, but it also requires a lot of power, to reach high speeds, to fight against all that downforce on the long straights.
The Manthey car had suspension work(different coilovers), the new rear diffuser, stickier tires than stock on super lightweight wheels, etc etc, and went 7:10, which is 10 seconds faster than a stock .1, just can't see (imo) the .2 going any faster, but maybe match that number.

I guess the last RS was only 5 seconds faster than 991.1 GT3.

The Manthey .1 RS did at Sport Auto's test with driver Christian Gebhardt a little bit under 7:10. The modifications were mainly suspension. So just put Lars Kern in the driver seat, I guess that will be - 5 sec.
