[QUOTE=Bossing;14778611]Here is one on consignment since the holidays from a local acquaintance.... same car I posted on this thread before. It's a $164,950 msrp. He's selling it because he has a PTS Mint Green GT3.2 on order.... personally I would have kept this SB but to each his own. Plus in person I think the GT3.2 is already quite stunning in Sapphire!/QUOTE]

so the same person get two allocation for a GT3? must be nice lol

It is a personal decision though, and you make a good point about not trying to rationalize the purchase of a sports car for this kind of money. The thing is, I suspect I'm not the only person who has to draw the line somewhere though it may be in a different place than where you draw yours.
Completely agree with your expansion on things - we all have a personal motivation and line somewhere. Don't shoot me for this, but the 'value' threads miss the point entirely which was my point in that post. I hate ADM's as much as the next, but its also way too easy to get caught up in the next best car. Find one you like, buy it, drive it, and enjoy it.

I've been a hardcore anti-ADM guy and turned down a few spots early in the game because I had my name on multiple MSRP lists for 2+years. But we all know what happened to many of those. So even I have given in and accepted an ADM allocation for October for January delivery. If I'm paying ADM, I like it to be at least to my specs. Hopefully, there will be a rush of additional allocations at the end of the year, and my MSRP spots pull through or ADMs come down (not likely). Otherwise, it's ADM or nothing.

Posting this on the 2 ADM threads going in this forum:

I got a call from my SA, Philadelphia area dealer, has a 991.2 GT3 ready to go, on the lot. Rhodium, pdk, LWB, and otherwise lightly optioned, "asking" ADM of $20k. PM me if you want his number, I'd prefer not to post it on the thread. For this lightly optioned car, even with $20k ADM, price would only be $180k (or less if you can negotiate the ADM). I'm going to take my chances and wait for my own msrp build later in the year, which has it's own risks. Anyway, if i can figure out how PM works, I'll get right back to you with a name and number. Good luck.

While Id like to agree with the sentiment, look at it objectively. The new RS is spilling out everywhere, so thats a given its coming and rumored to beginning delivery later this year and into next year - and GT2 RS's are known to fill demand at this point (or until capacity). I think logic says, there are no more allocations coming on the GT3, hence ending production later this year with no MY19 cars.

The trouble is, Bay Area dealers historically have been happy to sit on those cars for a very, very long time without dropping the price. SC sat on one of it's RS's at a ridiculous ADM for almost a year. And then sold it for pretty close to the ADM.

With it looking like this will be the last NA for the GT3/RS most Dealers will sit on them because they know some one will come a knocking

Both Livermore and Carlsen were willing to come down on their ADMs when I spoke to them. But I found an allocation I could build for a smaller premium so I didn't get far enough into negotiations with them to find out how low they'd go. But keep in mind Livermore's listed ADM is like $40K, while Carlsen's is $25K. Same car. Same "market." Why is one $15K more than the other lol

Good point but one difference is that while the RS is definitely extremely limited, what if they produce a lot of GT3s?

What would happen if 4000 991.2 GT3s are produced?

One RS that sat there for almost a year sold for nothing close to the original ADM ask. I wouldn’t believe everything the sales guys say.

1,306 for North America (219 being Canadian cars). Production has been dropping every month since September of 2017...

One sold for $75k over, the other sold for $40-50k over, according to someone who has no reason to lie to me.
