it should. Mine eats no oil and it’s purely a track car.

Mine needed 1l for 200 kms on the track, since the beginning, until 11000kms, when i sold it. there seems to be very big differences between one and the other...
But it worked perfectly well excepted this consumption.

That is quite a bit of usage. Did your dealer tell you that was normal?

I changed my oil 2 months ago and the overfill warning just came on. I think mine is producing oil.

Rob- Could it be that our seasonal cold weather is causing the oil level to rise? If the oil doesn't get hot enough to boil/evaporate the water condensation produced by combustion, it's possible to increase the volume in the oil system temporarily (until you get a chance to get it hot enough).

Or maybe the level indicating system sucks

Is it just me or would anyone else be a little annoyed to have a 're-conditioned' engine installed by my local dealer as warranty work? I guess they did give you the extra 2 yr warranty.

Hi Jim,

You are correct, I was very annoyed by their proposal to give me a "re-conditionned" engine instead of brand new one. I have been arguing for 2 weeks with PME/PAG, but not having much leverage I have negotiated 2 years warranty extension instead of 1 as initially proposed.
Their arguments were that these engine are fully rebuild with new internals as per Porsche specs/standards (as you would expect) and it will have all the latest upgrades. I'm more annoyed around the secrecy of what is exactly a re-conditioned engine, what parts have been re-used and what mileage had these parts??
At the end of the day the risks are pretty low and they could have simply open the engine at local dealer and start to find the issues and change parts which would have take ages and not sure about results, therefore I'm pleased with the solution together with the 2 years extension.

My understanding is this is common practice and espescially with the 10 years warranty on the GT3 engine, I would think they will proposed re-conditioned engine instead of brand new ones.
