The PTS demystified
looking the PTS price delta for a custom GT3 color and most important how critical is to get the dream car in right color (or at least not the wrong one )
i know the crap phones camera but who has the time to travel up and down exclusive storage facilities???
I was thinking might be worth to have a thread where who have really seen in person the color could help RLers while spending the extra 12k
I leave to Eduardo and others experts the discussion on history and choice
here is, possibly, a what is what simple question by color

I think there may be a little confusion here. The point of this thread is for people who have actually seen these colors in person to give their opinion of which of two pictures showing the same color is closest to the actual color as seen in person? Or no?
I do know from experience that some of these colors are pretty complex and appear very different based off the lighting conditions. Also, some color formulas do change over time.

OP that's a great idea. PTS is a nightmare. It's a shame Porsche doesn't have an official guide and process. Seems like it is intentionally made mysterious and challenging. If people want to blow over $12k on a custom color, at least make it easier for them to do so.
I've emailed Exclusive (or whatever they're called) a few times without reply.
It would be great to have one thread with only verified pictures of how the color actually looks in real world conditions. Obviously, many colors will require multiple pictures.
This is a big ask because most colors look totally different depending on lighting conditions and quality of the photo. Poor picture quality (incorrect white balance, exposure, etc.) and speculation of actual color are big obstacles.
I think it should be continued in Eduardo's original thread, but an excellent idea nonetheless.
(Hard to beat non-metallic black or white for that matter IMHO. But if it weren't for all the colors out there, this would no longer be the case. LOL)

The key to picking an agreeable color, is to pick one that you don't absolutely hate under certain lighting.

I found Lapis’ “PTS Sample and pics” thread to be very useful since he did side-by-side pics in the same lighting. Plus, the RAW format and camera he used probably helped capture the colors better than most cellphone pictures: https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-...-and-pics.html
Unfortunately for me, I still have not found any picture of any car (991 911 or otherwise) in the color I chose other than a sample in that thread...
