It’s a great wheel. They nailed the fitment, IMO. I was surprised at how light it is. You can feel the difference.

Do you know how much they weigh? I have the magnesium version which is 15 lbs front and 18 lbs rear IIRC and look great but I kind of prefer the 7 split spoke look vs. 6 on the magnesiums and of course the magnesiums are crazy $$$

The BBS FI-R's that I have are 17.4lbs (front) and 20.5lbs (rear) according the the specs I was given. 20x9 et52 and 20x12 et44 ...

I 'think' the FI-Rs are a bit lighter than the RE-MTSPs.

I think mags are about 4 lbs lighter per corner. Al is ~ 19/22lb. OEM is ~ 24/28lb.

I can tell the difference between OEM and AL, so you might feel a 4 lb difference between Mg and Al. Difference between OEM and Mg is huge, obviously.

The Mags are great wheels, but yeah they are pricey - when I checked they are about twice the price of Al. My last several wheels have been split 6 spoke, so I do like that the Al are split 7.

I put the different BBS wheels into a table for future reference in case anyone is interested, Correct me if I got anything wrong.

The RE-MTSP also comes in a Magnesium build with 7 spokes. That’s where it gets a little confusing.

They do not. The magnesium in 7-split spoke is for the RS fitment and they look different on the lip. For GT3 fitment the mag only comes in that 6-split spoke design.

That’s right - my mistake. The RE1640/1 is the 7 spoke.

I’m more of a reader than a poster, but wanted to contribute to the mag discussion. Thanks to a cancelled order, I scored some BBS RE 1757/1758 in Porsche White Gold. I prefer this 6-spoke design because of symmetry, but love anything BBS.

My detailer found a good match (can’t remember what colour it was but it wasn’t white gold). He had a template to cut the decal in-house. The trickiest part was finding a matching film for the chrome window trim. If I find out what colour it is I can let you know
