I would hate it if 50% or more of the GT3s were ordered the same color as mine.

I look at this the same way as mass27 and I think the white, chalk, greys, are totally boring, but I appreciate why some order those colors.
However, my guards red 991.1 GT3 was delivered the same day as a new white 991 GT3 and they both stayed in the dealer showroom for 2 days. My salesman told me later that my GR car got 90% of the attention during those few days"because it looks so much cooler", he said people told him repeatedly.

I disagree with guards red being boring in 5 months. I've had my current GR 991 GT3 for 2.5 years and I still don't get tired of looking at her. I think the 991 GT3 looks good in almost any color, but short of PTS, nothing appeals to me as much as GR, so that's the color I've chosen again for my .2 GT3.
I love both GR and white, and it's been literally tearing me apart trying to decide before I locked. In the end, I decided on white, and could always add the red hood/roof stripes from the 911R to "liven" it up if ever desired, which I think does a great job of doing. I had an orange RS, red E46M3, and my miata is bright red, so I like color, but I guess white has grown on me lately though.

Even my wife was tired of me talking about each color, and said to just make a decision already....lol

One day I love GR, the next day I want white, after looking at more online pics. It's comical. I need 2 allocations, clearly.

I agree with you. I like primary and other non-metallic, non-mixed, solid colors. I happen to think white is a little on the tame side, but I still can appreciate its simplicity and directness.

I dislike any color that is an amalgamation of 2 colors.

Lol. Tough when you go back and forth like that. Still as your Miata is Red, and you’ve had a lot of previous orange/red cars, white is likely a good choice for your GT3.

I think white with 911R, Martini livery, or other stripes, look great.

Red with white stripes. That would look the best. With white wheels. Salzburg 918 / 917 style. Maybe 5 people in the world will do that. And 300 people will do martini stripes.

Maybe- do yellow. Use the NEWMAN 956 1000km Nurburgring/LM24 livery as an inspiration. Triangles. Get weird.

Sapphire with gulf orange stripes? Whoa. F1 GTR style. Bam.

My comment about GR: i have owned a handful of red cars. The worst thing about owning a red car is when you are surrounded by other people ordering red cars. It will not happen on your local sunday drive, or pca track day. Car is too rare for that.

BUT-

Too many people will choose GR because of launch color. Once these cars hit the secondary market and 40% of the cars for sale (retail red) are GR...therefore making the cars only stand out in price....lower priced cars sell faster...flippers are picking Guards Red. 70% of the GT3 builds i have been offered (flipped by dealer/vip) are Red, then white. Nobody has offered me a yellow GT3 yet, which means yellow GT3 guys are keeper dudes, and therefore those cars will be on a track or a drive or in a garage. They won’t be for sale.

When I spec a car, I obviously go well outside normal...but that’s me and some people want to blend in, and that’s them. I am willing to take risks (green stripes on my UV RS) and go for wacky (purple stripes on my white R) that most people don’t want to take.

But imagine you want to stand out and blend in by accident!?!? That’s just not doing your homework.

Agree that more people will choose GR for the .2 GT3 than the .1, because GR was the launch color for the .2.

I do worry about it a little bit, because as I mentioned earlier, I like it when no color is chosen more than 15% of the time for a GT3.

Agree that a GR .2 GT3 might be worth a few thousand less than another color 2-5 years from now.

So for most people who swap cars every few years, picking GR for the .2 GT3 isn’t a good idea.

However for me as I prefer GR over all other non PTS colors, and I can’t get PTS without destroying the timing of my ED next summer, GR is the choice for me.

+1 for GR....stop worrying to death about values and pick what you want.

This is an emotional purchase...by that I mean if you are just buying transportation there are much cheaper cars and if you are an investment there are all kinds of better ways to invest.

Plus if you're using it for what it was built for, the track, most options and in particular the color will not matter at all. Its such a big purchase for most people you need to love the object of your desire and not worry what it will be worth in a few to many years down the road. The future may be bright but not certain!

For those who think 25 K over is absurd, look at this post by South Bay Porsche....They are asking 40 K over for a red build. Price is 222,660.00 !!!

According to the stats, just 73 out of 626 NA .2 GT3 selected GR so far. It’s only about 12%.

GR never gets boring. I've had GR for almost 10 years now and I can't imagine having any other color.

Another stupid post....

some care about it, some don't. If a special color makes your day, by all means do it....and for those who sit back and stare at their special-colored GT3, it means a lot; to others, oh well.

BTW, I heard the non-leather cars with 4-ways drive the same as the leather ones...

If you lump the similar colors together:

White 22% (white at 13%, CW at 9%)
Red 18% (GR at 12%, CR at 6%)
Grey 18% (chalk at 14%, AG at 4%)
Blue 16% (SB at 7%, Miami at 5%, GB at 4%)
Silver 12% (GTS at 11%, RS at 1%)
Black 11% (Black at 7%, JB at 4%)

Yellow (3%) and orange (1%) are the outliers.

Good idea.

Makes the overal color choice % more clear.

Looks like white is the most popular color though down in numbers from the .1 generation.
Rhodium is way down now that it costs the same as GT silver.

Hard to classify orange into a broad color category as its halfway between Red and Yellow.

However, It appears that in order to get a rare segment of the color wheel for a .2 GT3, you should pick a green, yellow, orange, or purple.
