Default Rarest and most common PTS color(s)?

What's the rarest PTS color or colors for a 911 that's on the current approved PTS color list? Have any of them NEVER been done? Have any only ever been done on just 1 car?

Conversely, what are the most common PTS colors ever done on 911? How many are we talking about of each (approx)? Are there any PTS colors for 911 that are actually more common than any standard colors due to some standard color's lack of popularity?

(Not that I would ever think to try, but....) is it possible, or has anyone ever successfully gotten Porsche to do a one-off color and then forbid any future cars from being made in said color?

Is there any way to even know? Who keeps track?

oh yeah, this thread requires PICS.

Calling Eduardo...?

Would love to have actual data. Has any one got it?

short of that, based on anecdotal reading and prevalence of pics of many different cars on the interwebs it seems some of the most common (excluding "PTS" colors that are actually available as standard colors on most models, I.e. Black, Agate Grey, etc, that weren't available on some certain 911 models) are:

riviera blue
gulf blue
Mexico blue
fashion gray
slate gray
brewster green
irish green
signal green
viper green

I know of one color I was told was approved, but never was painted on a car. I am guessing a lot of the colors are one car only. BTW if anyone has a newer list than the one most recently posted, I have an important reason to need to check it and would appreciate a copy, ideally a current list. PM me if you can help.

I mean going through the list, I googled every green available and read all of Eduardo's threads and there are a few I can't find at all (not even on a vintage Porsche).

OTOH the popular blues and greens seem to be on a lot of cars (and then there are the signal/arena/I forget the third color but Eduardo has posted it) PTS that Porsche made a number of the same spec in 991.1 GT3.

Fashion Grey was the third PTS color. PAG released these mid year 15 builds 10 fashion Grey
10 signal green
10 Arena Red
Each of these colors were speced by PAG awarded as bonus allocations to select US Dealers

Right. Fashion Grey. Also, the list above of popular colors has to have voodoo blue on it.

A color that I rarely see posts about is light ivory. I am torn between that and gulf blue for my PTS 991.2 GT3 with the wing. To my eye, light ivory looks amazing on 911s, old and new. It is classy, understated and rather unique, based on my research, anyway.

It would look good on a touring. I believe there are one or more 991 light ivory 911R (which is the color of a lot of the original 911R).

This was posted earlier on RL. Love this color, much richer than Cream White. Reminds me of my California.

You do that by getting approved for the color, and then not talking about it all, anywhere anyhow, until it arrives. It’s not easy, and it’s not “forbidding” anybody, but it’s the best way I can think of

It can be done with a lot of self control, and humility.

But then it goes on the list and everyone can have it.

Yes, but for future models given the very small timeframe the PTS window stays open. So, for that specific generation, it will be one of one to one of a handful.
