Help Sourcing a 991.2 GT3
#31
3 years ago I test drove a 991.1 GT3 in Vegas at one of the small tracks and was hooked. I hasn't had a Porsche in 15+ years, but had recently got back into DE days.
When I got home, I quickly called every dealer in the state and found an open allocation at MSRP within a day. I customized the car, and 5 or 6 months later it arrived.
So to the OP, it can happen...

From the looks of it I may have to go with a 991.

OP, why don't you switch your focus .1 RS? It will cost slightly more than a .2 GT3 with premium and you will be in an amazing car quickly. Then, get on a couple of lists for a late .2 GT3 (if you still want one after the RS) and you will be in the game. Good luck!

Funny you mention that because I was looking at RSs last night and the price difference really isn't that much. I've heard people getting them for under sticker lately. Is that true? If so I may go that route.

One of the statements reportedly voiced by Porsche is that they will build as many GT3.2's as needed to meet the demand. Everyone who wants one will get one. This is not a limited production car. They already have that, the 911R. The more GT3's they make, the more money they make. The only question is when can you get one. At this point, not until late 2018, maybe 2019. But you will get one.
As to the .1RS, I would wait until the GT3.2s start rolling in. Won't be too long, probably just a few months. You'll likely find better deals on the .1 RS then. IMO

OP:
Check out this thread:

He is one of the few people who does his own cleaning, so he eliminates the middle man. The end result is things may not be as clean, but huge cost savings.
Even if he can't source you a GT3, he may source other items that may be previously unsourceable.

Be wary of helping this guy. We recently had the EXACT same thing happen...to who would have guessed...a GT350R. Immediately flipped it. Previously tried with a BMW... and now here. He disappears after every time. This may not be the same guy, just depends on how well you believe in coincidence.
His Mustang story that someone finally helped him and found him a great deal. Immediately flipped.

Haven't seen any .1 RS's going for under sticker. My dealer just sold their last one at a healthy premium.
