Does anyone know if the carbon shift lever in the photo is available? I can't see it on the configurator and it doesn't seem to be included with the carbon pack.

PDK-S is going to be way faster than MT on any given track. AP is saying depending on the wind direction.
Now we have MT available but except bunch of hardcore people in the US no one will be ordering them. So the sales need to be moved. He lost his credibility in my eyes. He is just a salesman with good talk now.
Talking about 17kg weigh difference in regards to lap times? It's a f#@ing joke.
PDK-S changes gears in app. 100ms and have tighter gears. So with a single manual gear change, PDK will change 5 times. What else do you need to know? Lower transmission loss won't make up for it.
Either way soon we will find out.

The option for better lap times? Buy some seat time with coaching. After that, level up by getting a spec miata that's fully caged and you can really learn how to drive a slow car fast. Which translates into better hand speed, better car control, better driving. That will nullify any difference between PDK and a manual.

What is your prediction of the time difference per minute of lapping?
PDK does have tighter gear ratios, but only in gears 5-6-7, so you have to be going over 136 mph (redline in 4th) to experience that particular benefit. That happens on my 2-minute local track exactly once per lap (and benefits the laptime a fraction of a second)...

If they're so close, wouldn't we have all been more impressed if they set the ring time in the 6MT car? I know that would have been much more spectacular to me than doing it in a PDK-S car. My money says we never see an official 6MT ring time video.
As others have said, AP needs to justify the MT R&D costs, so needs to drive sales first and foremost.

And with PDK you can brake a bit later and have cleaner lines. No distraction with shifting and heel&tow.
But it all doesn't matter as mt guys don't choose it to have top times.

Buddy of mine did that on his 991 RS with PCCB.

Three Wheelin'
All this talk is non-sense. The biggest benefit to the PDK car owner will be that they can drive the car closer to the limit without being skilled with the third pedal. A very skilled 3 pedal driver, if driving the cars in similar manner, will likely be "slightly" faster in a PDK car. The unskilled 3 pedal driver would be noticeably faster in the PDK car. Trail braking and mid-corner shifting are areas where the 3 pedal car can not replicate like the PDK car. If a track has several corners where the manual car has to stay in a higher gear to not unsettle the car, where as a PDK car can downshift in the turn without upsetting the car, then on that track the PDK car has an advantage exiting the apex in a proper gear ratio. Removing the third pedal does allow for more time to process the information, and some people benefit greatly.
