Here's hoping this resolves the issue for you. Try and get pictures of the parts when they arrive.

BTW, are they replacing the heads because they are damaged, or because of a new design? Assuming new design, but wanted to throw the question about there.

I've asked these questions to my SA, as well as contact info at PCNA. I'd like to figure this out too. The last thing I want is having to worry about this happening again.

Most likely it will. Sorry to say.

This engine was designed bad. Top-end rebuilds will only fix it for a while. I expect mine to fail again within next 10.000 miles.

Did we ever hear about a case where a GT3 w/ top-end rebuild eventually failed again?

We will soon. Zero doubts. They will ALL fail again. And again. And again.

Good news. Just talked with the tech and it's only a thermostat issue. Nothing wrong with engine internals. Phew!

SA says one of the cam lobe's is worn down as well. Trying to get photos of that.
Thats crazy.....I'm 12 track days, some of which have 1 hour open happy hours at the end and I've yet to get a CEL.

22k miles on mine. Close to 7k on track. Strange that some fail with very little use and others with a ton of use are still ok

I seriously don't get it either. Joe, how your engine hasn't met its maker is beyond me. That is almost incredible. Would the previous gen GT3 have been able to withstand that punishment without needing some work? Your car must have close to 100 track hours, not to mention 15,000 regular miles. Head scratcher.

Maybe it's like the 997 RMS issue; the more they were driven - the less they appear.
