It would be nice to hear this from Porsche.

Not that I have a horse in the race, but is anyone tracking (no pun intended) RS engine failures?

It happened on the way home after a 3 hour drive through the local mountain roads, just cruising back in auto mode. Thanks, the car feels fine so hoping it's nothing serious...

2800 miles on the car, 10 track days, just hoping it's ok for next weekends track day

Got the code yesterday as well but no reduced power warning. Car felt fine. Dropped off at dealer this morning will keep you posted what I hear. 4,000 miles and zero track days yet.

Call from dealer is that it looks like the thermostat issue. Will update if anything else comes up (fingers crossed not!)

Where were these thermostats made? They all seem to fail.

my rs had same code this weeknd and dealer called today saying thermostat is the issue....backordered from the motherland apparently. Before ECF code, I received another warning....something about temperature (can't recall exact msg which I soon forgot when it was followed by ECF!), the temp gauge didn't move up at all as it normally would after 10 min of driving so the thermostat diagnosis sounds correct. I didn't notice any power issues but I was not pushing it at all while I was waiting for temp to get to normal. I hope it's just the case of Tata having gotten in the thermostat business!! Btw, 5500 km, 5 track days (not setting records but not driving Miss's Daisy either), oil change at 4600, 1200km break-in. Love the car but all these engine stories will give me acid as my warranty runs out if the issues aren't resolved...

What's the deal with the thermostat? It's a known problem for some time already. I would have assumed they solved the issue, especially in the RS.

I asked my SA about this, and he said it does not appear that the part number has changed.
