garage car lifts

Most garage floors will be 4-6" thick. More than enough to carry a car and ramp. The concrete is probably 3000 psi concrete if it was built in the last 25 years. Even before that, it was probably 2500 psi.
After a little research, I ended up going with a Challenger lift instead of a Bendpak. They are similar in price & quality, but the Challenger doesn't need an air compressor to lower it. It's being installed on August 1.

I am thinking of stacking my cars but why is everybody referencing ceiling height as the limiting factor? Isn't the garage door about 12" lower that the ceiling when opened and that is the limiting clearance? And if you have a two door garage with the center hing attached to the the center of the door, this subtracts another 6" or so of clearance.
What am I missing?

What's the price for this lift installed? I assume you can raise it to any height and stop wherever you want? Or does it have to go all the way to the top like shown in the video? Thanks

Lift is about $5000 CAD, more expensive than HD9. I don't have an installation quote yet. It has 5 safety lock positions which dictate where the ramp stops.

$6615 CAD for the 6SR. Quite a bit more. Apparently the 6S is on sale at $5100. They have third party installers across Canada. I haven't called him yet to get a quote.
Where are you located? Babco is opening a store in Mississauga, ON later this month.

i called and talked to them. they said install tends to average $850-1000 USD.
i really like the idea of this lift given that it will be more compact than a traditional 4 post lift. i have a separate over sized detached garage that i keep my P cars stored. i can get 3 cars in parallel via the 16' wide standard garage door. i really want to add 1 to 2 single lifts in the garage to allow storage of my upcoming 3RS and another possible car. however, with the 4 post lifts, it is about impossible to cut the cars into the corners through the garage door as the posts are too close to the door. i think this autostacker may allow me to get two separate lifts into the garage without having to worry about the posts. my only reservation is that this is a fairly new lift on the market, and i can't seem to find many reviews on it at this time.
