Hi guys. Reviving a somewhat dormant thread. I am looking at a new house with the ceiling height in the garage only 11'. Looking to install a lift for a bit extra storage but I am concerned 11' will not be enough to store an M3 and GT3. Looks like people are fine with a ceiling height of 11' but they are stacking two Porsche's and/or cars with lower overall height. Do people think 11' is sufficient or is that a little too short? Curious to hear thoughts.

Thanks,
Adam

I have recently looked into this myself because I only have 10' clear in my garage. It barely works in my garage (two Porsche cars on a lift ends up at about 9'8" tall). So it will work easily for you. This was a bendpak 9,000 pound standard 4 post lift.

BendPak has excellent data sheets on all relevant measurements on their website you can print. They give all the answers.

Start with the HD-9 specs and decide if you need to change the height, width, length.

https://www.bendpak.com/car-lifts/four-post-lifts/hd-9/

I have the HD-9

it will work but that's not the problem, make sure that the garage motor, track is out of the way I'm planning to do the same thing like you except I got the 1M, I don't worry about the height as much just the width of track and the garage door motor setup, GT3 have wide track, if you look at ^^ N above, outside edge runways is about 75

Just get a high lift door opener that mounts to the front wall near the spring and you no longer have to worry about the opener being in your way.

Remember, BendPak requires the use of an air compressor, so you need to factor in the space and to run the lines for that as well. Otherwise, BendPak is probably the best 4 post lift for residential use.

11 feet more than enough. I can fit my Ferrari and Gt3 RS in 9 feet if I need to. ‘Y ceilings are 11 feet and that is plenty of room. I have. 4 post Bendpack- the 9000 pound version. Works great!

Awesome info! Thanks for everyone's input. Truly appreciated. I guess I can make an offer on the house. My wife will be pleased.

You will be fine as long as lift is wide enough. I have a quality lift and have an e90 M3 and gt4 and it worked in my old garage that was under 11ft. Gt3 is about same height and width as gt4. Will have my gt3 in dec to replace the gt4. One thing to do is if you don’t have a deep garage you will need to have the garage door tracks change to go as high as possible to the ceiling and get a jack lift garage door opener also replace any overhead lights with flat panel led that are only 1” high.

Is this 9' to the ceiling or 9' to the garage door rails? I need to stack Turbo and RS in a 10' garage. Should work, but I'm worried about bumping my head on the tracks while exiting the lower car. Is that ever an issue? I know it sounds silly, but in real life, silly things happen.
