No, certainly not with respect to the mileage parameter, especially given the revs the engine is capable of. That makes sense. I even changed my coil packs last time although their replacement wasn't specified.....well, just because I was there.

It's the time factor that at least has me wondering, especially if mileage is much lower than 12K.

I changed my spark plugs for the first time this last weekend. As others have said, it was an easy, straight forward process. The only slight challenge was the "Bilstein connector" on the driver's side of the engine, which sort of blocks access to the forward plug. I used a universal and short extension (just for this plug), along with a 4" extension to remove/install this plug. Something else that has not been mentioned, is the plugs have fairly long threads, which seems to help to not cross thread them. I would also note that you should be careful to make sure you have the plugs completely unscrewed when removing, as you want them to remain in the socket for easy removal.

Highly recommend changing plugs around 10K miles or 2 years, whichever comes first.

Dealer confirmed issue due to misfire over 8K RPM while tracking car this past weekend.....basically went into limp mode at 100 MPH.

I had exactly 10K miles and 2 years since last major service. Would normally DIY, but letting dealer perform just to make sure issue resolves itself. Expensive lesson!

I had my plugs changed(2 year service) last week after taking her out of Winter hibernation. Car is 27 months old and 5800 miles.

I had them save the Plugs so I can take a look at them and they looked like it was time to change them as well did the air filters.

Car runs like a champ. Had them also pull the DME and not a blemish.

Spent the whole weekend driving her and the car never ceases to amaze me.I am just so glad I have had the opportunity to own the .2. Very few cars can compare

My guess is that if they failed at 10k, they were pretty rough for awhile. Do you have a .1 or .2 GT3? Several folks with .1 have been suggesting a change at 6,000 miles. These cars are very hard on plugs.

I would have had them done. My car was at 5800 miles and 2 years and i can tell you that the used Plugs I had them save for me certainly suggested it was time after visual inspections of them

I have a 991.1 2015 GT3 with 17K miles. Last major service was 7K in 2016, so four years....probably way over due.

Usually track 3-4 weekends per year...just in case anyone is wondering.

Driving car under normal conditions (i.e. street driving) no issues.

10k Miles seems so short a distance for plugs, thanks for confirming it really is needed

Yep, fortunately it's one of the easier DIY's.

They are using BG44K fuel cleaner additive, I got a case of that stuff, albeit for a bit less than $26.50 per can

Do you start your car to move it in and out of the garage at all without letting it heat up? I had some misfires and I cleared them, took the car out, once up to temp I blew it out and had no issues since. I think the plugs are getting a lot of buildup if the engine is not up to temp. I bought my GT3 with 24k miles on it and kept the plugs that I changed out after I bought it. When I got home with it, it originally had a misfire code then. I took it to the dealer and they said everything was fine and cleared the code for me. I bought a POR-II since then to turn off the oil change light and I do all of my own service. I'll probably let the dealer do the PDK service but unless you're tracking your car a lot that isn't something needing to be done before scheduled. I'll change my plugs again at the 2 year mark since I'm only driving like 4k miles a year currently. I'll compare my old plugs with my current ones on the next change.

I just did my PDK clutch oil at 17.5k miles, it requires PIWIS to do it correctly. The oil that came out looked and smelled new, so probably not necessary. I will say the PDK recalibration done via the PIWIS did seem to make it shift and engage better, especially off idle. Very possible there's some placebo there though.

I was tracking the car when it happened, so yes, it was up to operating temps.
