how many considered a turbo instead of GT3

Been through a 996 TT and 7.1 TT. Both had power > handling. When I went to 996/997 GT3/RS', never looked back.
Am only contemplating 991 TT used because of kids/wife with PDK. Totally different cars for feel/purpose (but I already knew OP knew that!). For pure driving pleasure, only look at P-car GT cars. Best value and experience.

I'm fortunate enough to have both, my Turbo is a cab. Love them both but if I could only have one car, it would be the Turbo.
The Turbo can do track days, but the GT3's not a great daily drive.

I realize I'll be flamed for saying this here, but ...
1) I configured a GT3 but missed the allocations deadline.
2) Came next week and configured a turbo.
3) Kept lusting on GT3s and angry for missing the opportunity.
4) received my turbo, got thrilled happy satisfied and convinced it's the right car for me.
5) still lust over the GT3
6) drove my turbo on the track. The GT3 was nowhere close to the turbo performance.
7) still love the GT3, but sorry... I don't lust over it or regret missing the allocation. Neither the GT3 is great as DD or on track vs the turbo.
I know I'll get crucified here... YIKES!

I'm with you. I ended up with my turbo cab after the 2014 gt3 engine debacle, couldn't stand the wait. Love every minute of it. Picked up a gt3 in 2015 for the track, I realized I couldn't daily drive the gt3 so I kept the turbo.
Totally different cars depending on use. I was telling someone if you are 80/20 DD/track then turbo, if you are 80/20 track/DD then gt3

Many of us have driven them all, AC has owned them both.
Anyone who says a C2, C2S, or Turbo is the same car as a GT3 hasn't spent enough time with a GT3.
It's a very personal choice, but the GT3 and RS are the high strung, drive it to the track, drive it on the track RWD machines. The C2 and C2S are capable, but a more sedate personality, not as track focused. Then there are the AWD cars C4, C4S, Turbo, etc. AWD is a different machine.

I had a GT3 and now an RS which is a blast. I also have had a bunch of turbos with the '17 turbo S being the latest.
If you only get one, I can understand both sides. Otherwise, don't sell the turbo short. It is the best all around car I have ever experienced. It's not visceral but does EVERYTHING well. GT owners are a little too critical of depreciation since they don't generally experience much but the turbo follows a typical depreciation curve, nothing extreme.
I'll never be without a turbo, they are that good.
I've driven just about everything but must concede CJ has experienced more. CJ, what do you like better around 200k?

My 1st 911 was a 930 (turbo) 1978. Insane car I must say! Before getting the 991 GT3 I almost purchased a 2009 Turbo with stick. Thanks to my wife who changed my mind into getting a brand new 911 and she agreed on purchasing the GT3.
I would consider a turbo again, but only 930s to 993s.

I've owned a 991 TTS and GT3, if you want a 2+2 that does everything well then TTS can be a great option. I know some WEC level pros that prefer it on track to the GT3, but it is obviously a little heavier (GT3 is too heavy imo) and a little less steering feel. These were the biggest weaknesses to me on the GT3.

I can't speak for a regular GT3 but I can speak to the 991 RS and 991 TTS, and I've onlyhad the RS for a couple of weeks.
The 991 TTS is the best all around sports car I have ever owned or driven. It is insanely fast, much faster than the RS on public road driving,, handles and brakes amazingly, is more than capable on track, and does it all in relative luxury and comfort. Add an am exhaust like the AWE and it's almost the perfect car. It's not my DD but I drive it every chance I get, and since owning it I've actually put more miles on it that my DD, including two HPDE. Mine is a 'stripper' and I bought it new from a dealer for $45k under msrp, so I'm not as worried about depreciation as others might, but obviously these cars depreciate the way most cars out there do.
The RS is obviously a track focused car. It is uncomfortable on the street with the comp seats and the power band makes it almost impossible to get much out of it on the street without risking jail time, as a result its just slower around town. That said, and as I've mentioned on other threads, its visceral nature makes it a special event every time I drive it and, and I imagine the same can be said for the regular GT3. The GT3 and RS are two of the most beautiful cars I have ever seen, not that the TTS is ugly, its just that the GT cars are stunning.
Once I have the RS on track in the fall I am sure I will grow to appreciate it on a whole new higher level, but if money wasn't a variable and someone put a gun to my head and said you only get to keep one of the two cars I would at the present time choose to keep the TTS.
Perhaps the regular GT3 is a little less 'intense' than the RS which would put it somewhere between the RS and TTS, especially if fitted with 18 way seats, or it may be almost the same as the RS in its street drivability in which case the above is applicable.

Seriously considered the 997.2 TT before buying my GT3. As others have said the TT is insanely fast. At the altitude I live at the Turbo seemed like a better choice. Then I had an up close look at the 991 GT3. It was game over for me.
