Default GMG Racing - Atomic Teal 991 GT3RS

GMG Racing - Atomic Teal 991 GT3RS

We recently had the privilege of track prepping this beautiful 991 GT3RS at our Orange County facility. The owner has been a great client for several years. We have prepared a number of cars for him in addition to working with him on some professional racing endeavors.

For this particular build he was after a visceral car that could enjoyed out at the Thermal Club. With a vision in mind, we treated this GT3RS to a number of our GMG Signature Series parts in addition to the striking color change.

Inspired by our successes racing the 991 GT3R in the Pirelli World Challenge Series we developed the stainless GMG WC-GT center section exhaust. By installing this center section we dramatically enhanced the car’s exotic growl and simultaneously shed some weight.

Within the Alcantara and Carbon Fiber lined interior we installed our Chromoly GMG LMS harness/roll bar and 6-point Schroth belts to keep the driver strapped securely into the track-appropriate Sparco EVOIIUS seats.

In regards to the wheels, we turned to HRE and installed a set of their forged 19” RC103 Monoblocks. However the iconic “RS” center locks and caps were retained. Underneath the satin-black HRE wheels a full set of light-weight Brembo 2-piece floating rotors and Race Technology RE10 brake pads were installed.

Lastly, to give this GT3RS a unique twist we had the meticulous team at Protective Film Solutions overlay the original Lava Orange finish with an Atomic Teal vinyl wrap. The finished look turned out far better than we had hoped. The striking color helps to subtly enunciate the GT3RS’s shapely contours. It was the proverbial cherry-on-top that helped to tie the project together!

This GMG-tailored list of parts will give the client a better performing car, and undoubtedly an added shot of enjoyment when he gets the chance to track it at the Thermal Club in the next few weeks. While we have extensive experience racing the 991 professionally, we enjoy putting together these dual purpose street/track cars for clients. If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment give us a call or send over an email.

-GMG LMS Roll Bar

Car looks great. Who did the wrap? Any reason they didn't wrap the door sills or other interior areas?

Thank you everyone.

Roy, we wanted make for an interesting contrast with the original color. Wrapping everything would have negated that. The wrap was done by Protective Film Solutions.

Did you stick with the stock tire width or did you go wider? I think I spy 345 in the back, but I can't see the front.

Looks Great!

Martin - Right? I am looking forward to seeing it out there and being driven in earnest.

Irish - Good eye. The front Hoosiers we kept at 265/35, but for the rear tires we went a little wider (345/30).

My incoming RS has steel rotors so you know I'll be tracking it.

Why no headers? Did you stop producing for some reason?

This client wanted the car done asap and we were out of stock on the headers, so we built the car as is and then tested it at Thermal the next day.....his plan is to put headers on the car in the near future.

He also wanted the contrast of the Lava Orange and Teal blue wrap and I think it's obvious (at least to me haha) that it looks great.

Cheers!
